Black Friday score. The 20% discount helped push me over the edge. I have been lusting over their boots for years.
Navy FO Maine Guide boot
Killer boot bag and key ring.

Fit is spot on. It’s always the most stressful part of ordering online.

At first glance I thought they personalized the boots for me. [emoji23]

Guess I’m asking a bit of a necro here:
Recently tried a maine guide boot on in a 13 E (yuk standard width). The length in the toes gave me a thumbs width but my foot was shifting all over so I sent back and contacted yuketen.Idk about everyone’s experience but I feel like I’m getting lackluster sizing advice from customer service. They asked me to go measure my foot on a brannock and I reported my size 13c/d.
I didn’t really get advice but rather “yes the shoe didn’t fit you - we can make it in a narrow width but it will not be refundable/returnable.
Any advice from anyone? I’d really love to get into some of the country rangers, ox, and Maine guides but idk if I’m willing to spend the money to have a shoe made that may not fit and I can’t return.

Stitchdown podcast talks with Yuki Matsuda, the designer of Yuketen. Saw him speak at Garbstore in London a few years ago and his passion for craft is infectious. Really cool guy.

Land Jordan Yuketen.
Homage to Jordan 13.

My favorite boots ever: special blacked out makeup Maine Guides with Yuke's rocker sole.

@AceHarding
How do you find the sizing on these? Been eyeing these on eBay for a while.. usually a UK9.5/10... so I feel like I'd be rolling the dice on these being the right size...
-
@T4920 I went one size down and they fit well. I would say they run true to their size chart. That linked pair is really nice. Mine were a lucky ebay find, from the FW17 collection.
-
@T4920 that's a great pair. If that's your normal size they will probably work. The thing to think about with any moccasin is that they are made to fit snug around the foot, even in the toes, and not everyone likes their boots to fit like that. I really like Yuketen moccasins but could never get on with them because of the snug fit. So if you are into that, go for it, they are very cool.
-
Thanks for the input, yeh I'm so close to pulling the trigger but I'm conscious that the statement 'fits like UK 9.5' is hyperbole, as I'd usually be at least a US10!
£300 is a lot for a gamble, and they've been listed for almost a year so I'd probably struggle reselling them if they didn't work out...

Day 2 of the stitch down patina thunder dome in these Yuketen Alan boots. They're so great I bought a second pair in black calf.

-
Black calf arrived in time to enter them as well into the boot patina contest.

@AdamJ It may be worth selling the kidney needed to afford these (tagging Adam as he knows about getting chased by hoards of women when you wear something this special).
Smoking shoes, elegant ass kickers, western loafers, either way I'll dream about these gracing my feet until the day they do.
for those who own Yuketen, how do they compare to the popular brands we see here on the forum?

-
@jordanscollected "for those who own Yuketen" - first class. Though those shoes are punchy1
-
@will6er I'm not sure how you define punchy, but i bet it means you think they are lamesauce
-
Those are beautiful @jordanscollected and I assume made in Mexico same factory as my white "Jordan" yuketen. Quality is really high. If you have any questions ask Yuki Matsuda, the designer, on instagram, he's really friendly and enthusiastic about what he puts out. What I like about Yuketen is taking heritage craft seriously while also being playful and lighthearted in executing the combination of elements. A western Romeo with a toe bug is a great example of that approach.
