I blasted it with all the way hot water, hot as my tap went...110-120F is hottest the tap can get.
Good to know, thank you! Now let‘s see how the jacket will fit and take it from there.
Filthy would even go as far as boiling his denim to achieve an even larger amount of shrinkage. He has it documented well on here but I couldn't tell you which threads.

@Oaktavia @Kasi Thanks so much to you guys and others here for sharing your journeys with this piece. I was on the fence when my orders first arrived. The M fit similarly to my previous IH jackets with similar dimensions (except I've never gotten tiny bruises from bending my elbows before... whatever... should mellow out after a cold soak) but I am swimming in the L pre-soak (similar to Octavia's pre-soak photo). I feel a bit more confident starting the hot soak process this weekend. Thanks guys!

Decided to soak as well. Hot water for an hour. Just tried it on while damp. Definitely got some shrinkage out of it. Love this beast already

Did you try sticking a knife sharpening tool or screwdriver in the button hole and twisting and stretching first? I did that with my XHS and never had a problem buttoning them up from the start.

@Mizmazzle, yeah used a needle-nose plier to widen the holes. not much damage to the finger but a lot of indigo transfer.
