@goosehd Highly recommend Rick's Cafe. Just looked it up and you might need an advance reservation to get in. Cool spot for drinks and the sunset.

@Jett129 Really appreciate that tip and we’ve been looking at it as a something to do. I might even try doing a cliff dive.

Wasn’t sure if it was worth it or not…have you been to the falls near there?

@GraemeE Went to their website, looks interesting. Being 70% corn and also being rested in wine barrels,I would expect it to be sweet and maybe fruity. They don’t say anywhere how long it’s been aged for. I would like to try it. Keep my eye out for it.

@Jett129 the bourbon I'm having tonight is only 6 months in pinot barrels but it's fairly smooth without being overly sweet

@goosehd IMO it's always worth looking at Plantation Rum. There is also one from Jamaica.

Thank you for the recommendations for rum. These are the two we picked from the duty free on our way back home. There were so many that we wanted to try and bring back home that maybe another trip is in order…🙂

Wray is some good stuff. Not for sipping imo but great in the right drinks. It's got a bunch of funk too which is useful in splitting your rum base in any cocktail you want to make more interesting. Eg, use a clean column distilled lightly aged rum like a flor de caña 4year and Wray to make a killer daiquiri by using 1.5 and .5oz, respectively.

Here are two of my favorite ways to use Wray besides mixing with Ting. If you can't find Ting, I feel like Squirt makes a suitable sub.

                                          Nuclear daiquiri: 1oz Wray | 1oz lime | .75 green chartreuse | .25oz falernum

Bikini atoll: 1oz ea Wray and lime juice | .5oz ea green chartreuse, falernum, orgeat, and Curacao | Mai Tai garnish

The daiquiri recipe sounds perfect and I will definitely try it. Thank you 🙏

@Jett129 I hope it is rocket fuel and will keep me warm and dreaming of the Caribbean on those long winter nights.

I’m also very glad my days of stupidity are behind me where I would have drank the Wray’s for an evening and not had the common sense to take it easy…🙂
