I did buy the black version of this and am not disappointed in the least.  Still not sure of the weight, but I’d guess somewhere between 14-17 oz comparing to my denim & duck jacket & vest.  However, it is lined which adds to the weight.  This a great jacket IMO - glad I pulled the trigger.

The black was posted with slightly smaller dimensions than the olive.  I normally take a small in UHFs and found the size xs in this to be perfect - fitting comfortably over a UHF and still providing a slim fit, if that’s the look you’re going for - or can possibly size up to UHF size for a looser look.

No one’s happiness but my own is in my power to achieve or to destroy.

A standard Ventile L24 fabric is 200gsm, which is almost 6 ounces.  Private White uses 250gsm Ventile for their rainwear, which is slightly over 7.

Waxed cottons for outerwear are usually between 6oz. on the lighter side (PWVC's current Twin Track), 8oz. towards the middle (3sixteen's Stadium jacket), 10oz. moving towards the heavier side (Corridor NYC's x Division Road's Martexin Army duck M-65), or 12oz. at the heaviest (PWVC x Division Road's Archive Twin Track in British Millerain).

So your guess is probably spot-on, assuming the waxed fabric Haraki-san chose is middle-of-the-road.

Say…  Anyone got a field report of how this jacket stood up to a pretty good drenching?  I've been looking forwards to that new olive moleskin Type III since December, but now that it's nearly here I'm finding myself potentially swinging more towards this M-65 owing to its practicality for shoulder seasons in the Midwest.

Just wondering how practical it actually is in the rain.  Hoping someone can chime in!

Sorry my friend, have not been out in it in prolonged rain to find out.  For the odd shower it has been fine but can not tell you what it would be like after a major soaking.

There is no 'I' in team …............ however there are five in 'individual brilliance'.

@nurunuru  It's a really good and practical jacket and not a stylish blender. The windproofness is very good, I was able to test that. Unfortunately I have no experience in heavy rain. I haven't even used the hood yet  Sorry.

Not sure about rain, we don't really get a lot of it in my part of Canada. Holds up fine in light, wet snow though - although you need to layer to stay warm.

I'm also looking at the olive moleskin Type III. It should be a nice jacket for the cooler weather in the spring, summer, fall.

I recently (end of 2022) got my hands on one of those, XL is still a bit tight but i am working on it. But yet it looks good and sharp, hope that with time i will shrinkt to fit is the jacket a bit better.
But still a very nice jacket, i enjoy the high collar and those side pockets are amazing, simple but yet super comfortable and a natural feel for the hands.

A couple of quick questions....has anyone washed one of these in a washing machine? Also, what are two button holes for on the collar?

Tight in the shoulders think this will open up a little ? The fit is perfect except that.

We never washed one to check, given the fact it has been oiled the thought did not cross my mind

Hey for those who got this jacket, are you entirely satisfied ? Is the fabric similar to the new release IHM-41-GRN Quilted one ?

                                    Thanks !

@Neru-6 The IHM-33 was 100% oiled cotton where as the IHM-41 is 8oz 50% cotton/50% nylon shell, which is lighter, but has the additional lining

The devil is in the detail..
