I would send to Railcar Fine Goods in California (I'm assuming you're in the US?).

They can do precise measurements for downsizing etc., take a look at their site.

They have done various alterations for me including on the 21oz and are very good.

Railcar and Indigo Proof are two specialists in the US that everyone raves about. There is The Denim Doctor in the U.K. too, but I can’t vouch for the quality.

I’ve had local tailors alter the length of 21oz but they won’t do major alterations. Taking in the waist elegantly is a difficult business.

I’m sure some here have used Indigo Proof for alterations. She seems to be the most trusted and popular denim repair specialist in the US. personally, I wouldn’t trust a tailor to alter expensive denim if they don’t have the expertise with this material or the tools for the job. Ymmv

I’d go to the 634. I measure the same where my thighs need more inches than my waist would suggest. Different models of the 634 have different rise tosome degree.

If you have a beer float(ice cream in beer) every day they should fit much better in a week.I don't mean to tease you,but I saw that your pretty far up north in Canada,so the cost of shipping back and forth plus the alteration expense might be cause to think of another solution. Maybe you could sell them on the forum and buy a new, better fitting, pair. Whatever you loose in the cost of selling a used pair, might be less than the expense of getting them altered, with questionable results. Just a thought.

Railcar Fine Goods is my go to. I usually have to size up because of the thigh issue. I have had 3 pairs of IH ranging from duck all the way to 25oz taken in. They do great work.

Since losing about 25lbs I've had Railcar take in a slew of Iron Heart, including 21oz and 25oz.  They did a brilliant job.  Shipping costs end up included and it was far more economical than selling used and buying a new pair–-plus I'd worked so hard on those fades and washing carefully, I wanted them back.  The size down needs to be permanent so part of the reason I went for it was to have very good reason not to gain back any of that weight.  I think my Iron Hearts are likely to out live me by a long shot.
