Great start @Matt ! I’m already enjoying the prep steps for your trip. Never even thought about doing something like that but happy to enjoy it vicariously. Maybe if I had an in-law like yours  😃

      The journey is the objective.

The toilet install was a success.  It's not very interesting to look at so I'll spare you the pic for pic's sake. I've decided The Tin Palace needs to make a trip to an Airstream dealer for a 45 point inspection.  I've done most of the things on the standard pre purchase inspection list so this one will included all the electrical and appliances, thins I can't really check on my own.  I'm also going to have them do a leak test and look into the extent of the closet mold.  It's supposed to be really windy on Friday and I'll have to make a 2 hour trip to the nearest dealer in Virginia.  My first towing trip, we'll see.

We built a campfire in my father in law's herb harden, next to his greenhouse, last night but neither my wife nor I remembered to take any photos.  The kids are up our asses 24/7 now thanks to COVID so we spend most of our time deciding if it's too early to start drinking and forgetting to do the things we want to.

        That reminds me…

My children did not care about any of that.  They just wanted to put their Barbies in the river.  They failed history today…

I’m sorry there’s been nothing to report this week.  The AS has been at the dealer getting serviced and I haven’t received any updates.  Hopefully all is well with it.  We’re also waiting to see what happens with work and school before we decide when to move out of the house and into the trailer.  Strange times.  I hope to have something post worthy soon.

Thank you.  MD has only extended school closings until May 15.  Not sure why, possibly because they have no plan and are afraid to admit it.  Our fear is that they’ll make summer school mandatory in which case we’ll have to follow MD’s homeschooling curriculum which is a pain in the ass instead of TX’s as planned.  TX’s  homeschooling curriculum is a bit more forgiving shall we say.  BTW, my kids still haven’t received the learning materials promised by Baltimore County.  No wonder Netflix stock is surging.

So after talking to the nice lady at the Airstream dealer we've found ourselves lighter by about $3300…

Most of this is due primarily due to the fact that the previous owner had apparently never heard of "winterization."

                                  Dumb ass.

It's ok though, our fearless leader sent us a check for exactly that much as part of the Coronavirus Aid Package.

Whoever said the president was a bloated, orange, incompetent, pompous, horse sodomite?  Besides me I mean?

We should have the Tin Palace back in our driveway soon and hopefully we'll be able to start moving our stuff in so we can settle up on the house and start our adventure.

@Snowy Good question!  For those of you who don’t know the joys of freezing temperatures, winterization is basically  preparing any kind of fluid filled mechanical or plumbing  system for temperatures that may cause said fluid to freeze, expand then damage the housing within which it’s contained.  Houses, boats, trailers all need to be properly drained of water or other fluids that can freeze before being stored in freezing temps.  Basically all the water lines, faucets and filters in the trailer will need to be replaced.  I’d be way more pissed if we hadn’t bought the trailer for such a steal.
                                        Easy come, easy go.

@Chris Yeah there are virtually no rules for having the kids certified as legally educated in the state of TX.  No testing, no curriculums to follow.  It’s like “Look kids, an armadillo.  Science!  You pass 3rd grade”.

Sounds about right. Education is not exactly a priority in this state.
