Coronavirus (Covid-19) Discussion

@DougNg I'm sitting in on a multi agency conference call tomorrow involving police, and adults/children's services safeguarding teams. We usually share Intel on county lines drug gangs and domestic abuse cases. It will be interesting to see how the balance shifts. We are anticipating a spike in DV and huge drop in gang activity as people are forced to stay home in close proximity.
The police are already predicting that this pandemic will change how criminals operate in future, and what types of crimes will be prevelant. It is crazy to think of the extent that this has changed so many things so quickly.
I live in Charlotte, NC. yesterdays news was that domestic violence cases are on the rise. I sort of expected that.

@Giles don't you believe it! As one of lf American cousins pointed out, less police prescence means more opportunism. Elders will still be active, its the kids that run the drugs that are being kept off the streets by parents that are more present.
You can be certain that the elders will be thinking up creative new ways of carrying out business, just as we all are. The fact that couriers aren't requiring signatures, for example, provides opportunity to move stuff around less hindered. They are clever fer's.

Something I haven't seen in weeks. :o
Bog roll stock seems to be coming back to normal here. It still sells out but I can go into grocery stores now and see full shelves.

Watching their kids my ass. There was just a video posted of a bunch of teenagers on the upper west side of manhattan moving as a crowd jumping on cars and rushing into a building for I don’t know what. 20-30 kids
While I don’t think they’re dealing drugs it’s clear NYC doesn’t have a grip on things.

I believe the source of coronavirus is from pangolins.
It's still unclear from which animal it came. But bats and pangolins seem to be leading contenders.
