This was yesterday, I hit up Clinton Street Baking Company for some pancakes per @Graham recommendation. Then had some mad cheese grille mac and cheese for lunch which set my cholesterol off the charts. Topped off with Scarrs Pizza in the evening, who're good friends with Self Edge. All washed down with plenty of Tequila Sodas!

peter lugers has always been on my list. i know there's definitely better places just by watching vlogs on youtube but still dream of having one of their steaks one day..

Yeah Lugers is awesome. it’s a must. People say there are better places but Lugers sets the bar. And “better” is subjective at that level. At least IMO. Def give a shout when you make the trip.

I had never heard of Scarrs Pizza until about a week ago,when I saw that Mathew McConaughey and Charlie Hunam had gone there after the premiere of their new movie The Gentlemen. Then I see pictures on social media of the IH guys there. I thought I knew every good pizza place in the city. Definitely have to check it out.

me wanting to go to NYC is because of a whole bunch of experiences mashed together. firstly the big city but also my aviation geek side of things with the world's longest flight (SQ21/22) for you aviation enthusiasts. currently looking at end dec 2020 or by early 2021 at the very least.

Some people who know how much I like Peter Lugers had sent that to me when it came out. Being a fan,I ,obviously, don’t agree with him. Don’t know where he thinks the best steakhouse is. I’ve eaten in just about every name steakhouse in NYC,and there are some others that are pretty good,but none in my opinion as good as Peter Lugers.

I just wish I had some sort of point of reference as to which steakhouse he especially likes. It would be like if someone criticized IH and didn’t tell me who they thought was better. You need to go someday and maybe you’ll say that guy was right and Jett doesn’t know what he was talking about.

I've never been to Luger, but have eaten at Wolfgang's Steakhouse a bunch (started by former head waiter at Peter Luger). I go there with a vendor I work with at least once a year. It's a good steak! But I wouldn't shell out my own 60 bucks for it.

Yeah I read it. He longs for nostalgia. Lugers of the 80’s and 90’s. Well those times are over Peter. The steak is still unreal.

I can't think of another NYC steakhouse I've been to recently except Quality Meats. The non-steak offerings there are by far better than those at Wolfgang's or any other old-timey steakhouse places I've been to. And the steaks are great. But I did feel like their (Quality Meats) idea of medium was a lot rarer than my idea of medium. So I figured out I have to order medium-well there.

yes, as crazy as it sounds. i do want to spend 18 hours on a plane but only in premium economy or business. (which is the only 2 cabins on offer on that flight. it travels over the arctic circle and you be as close to true north as possible.. i've been wanting to take that flight for years on the old a340s but then it got cancelled because of fuel prices.. can't remember if i've ever been on an a340 but an a350ULR would suffice for now..
