IHSH-216-NAV - Heavy Moleskin CPO Shirt - Navy
-
Check the measurements. CPO’s are cut with less taper in the waist precisely to facilitate layering. They can totally be used as a jacket.
If your UHF’s are fitted then I see no reason why you can’t try. You could even check the next size up. I used an XXL IHSH-76 over a JC II for a while.
I have the tan one. Tomorrow, I'll see if it's possible to fit a UHF or any IH shirt underneath. I'd do it now but my closet is in my nine-month old's room. If I wake her, I am dead.

But it’s Moleskin. That trumps Blue.
I should pass on this one because I have too many blue shirts but this is such a beauty.

Does this material stretch or shrink?
-
@jat I have last year's model, and, assuming its the same fabric, you shouldn't get any shrinkage from a cold wash. I have also not found the material very "giveable," too. If you're hoping it will stretch like denim, it won't, unfortunately. It has a wonderful, almost velvet-like feel to it, though.
-
To the previous discussion, here's a UHF under last year's model.
-
@Jett129 It's a strange feeling to have the "shirt" feel heavier than the "jacket" but that's where we are at.
-
Yes. Not bad, actually. I probably do a lighter flannel to be honest, though.
-
Really tempted by this. Large looks good for a nice trim fit, XL would probably work if wearing as outer layer but might be too long. @Sam is my baseline for shirts, would he take a Large?
Any estimation as to how warm this will feel? I’m guessing similar or slightly lighter than a UHF? Also as this is Navy, am I right in thinking this isn’t going to fade?

It is Navy, not indigo, and probably reactive dyed. So fading like denim won't happen no. Judging by the measurement, I strongly suspect Sam will use Large. Moleskin is traditionally wind resistant and quite dense. I'd imagine this to be different to a UHF but nearly as warm

Awesome, I’d want this shirt to stay looking just as it is with minimal fading. I just noticed the page for the brown version of this shirt where the measurements are similar and Sam indeed took a brown.
Think my mind has been made up on this one. Will be poised at 1600 tomorrow!
