I must say that what you are doing with the perfectly hemmed jeans shots is brilliant, they look proper every time

Just picked these up. The measurements on this flavor of 634 is perfect for me due to the slightly roomier thigh. Can't wait to see how they will age with the indigo warp & black weft. Should be very cool. I wonder if anyone has a broken-in pair of 142ib denim yet as I'm curious what to expect. Although at the same time, it's somewhat nice not knowing and seeing the evolution as it comes.

But for real, I love this indigo/black combo so much.

The rate at which denim fades largely depends on the friction/abrasion the fabric is subjected too. Some jeans produce more contrast due to the colour etc, as you can see from Giles' pair these ones look pretty awesome once you beat them up.

I have a particular problem of late, reading companies advertise 'BUILT TO FADE' or 'DESIGNED TO FADE'

If you wear them, they will come 🙂

The devil is in the detail..

@gosha  Adam is right… some denim may give up its indigo quicker than others. But it is the kind of lifestyle you lead while wearing them that really decides how quickly they fade and what patterns you get.

A denim that is allegedly designed to fade quickly won’t fade very quickly at all if you just sit on the sofa, while a denim that is somewhat stubborn (like the Iron Heart 21oz) will fade very quickly if you are climbing trees, working construction or skateboarding in them.

My advice would be to buy the denim you like the look and feel off and wear them a lot. The fades will take care if themselves, and will represent the life you live.

Thanks for the answer. @neph93 @AdamJ. I understand. I walk 8-10 km a day 4 days a week. I have a couple of PIH5DCS, and 634-17 duck indigo and they do a quick faders. For six months, I got a great result. I also have 634-21 they are slightly slower, but the result also suits me. But I also have Momo and they upset me. They are very slow, although my movement has not changed. The same rate. But the result is much worse

Apologies if I seemed condescending. You have lots of experience. I suspect you will find the indigo/black move quite quickly, with high contrast, although for my money the XHS has the best fades.

Oh no! It's all right! 🙂 I wear XHS in winter, 634-21, 888-21 in spring and autumn. Would like to take jeans for summer 14 oz with my old TCB50 🙂

Ah…. I was about to suggest the 22oz Pronto denim. The straight cut version is available via The Outlet. Amazing denim and fades beautifully. It does breathe quite well but may be a little warm for a summer jean, depending where you are.

How much more does this 14oz stretch than 25oz?
Describe all the differences, if possible, please.

@kornnn they look to be fairly similar, however the 14oz has a slightly lower rear rise which you may notice. The waist, thigh and knee also look like they could be slightly snugger, however I would guess given the difference in weight of material (and disclaimer, I've never had the 14oz), at least some of the difference in measurements would come down to the thickness of material. I can't comment on the difference in stretch having never owned a pair, but in summary, I would guess they will fit pretty similarly 🙂

14oz will stretch like the 25oz but it won’t shrink like the 25oz. This is the primary reason for the difference in waist. The 25oz is expected to shrink up to an inch, then stretch out again. The 14oz will only stretch so you’ll end up about the same.

Otherwise the denim is quite different in weight, texture, hand and colour.

The differences in measurement charts are minor and expected. These jeans are made in small batches, by hand and mechanical machinery, not cut by cnc. Small differences between cuts and iterations, and even within the same batch are normal.
