Friendly FYI to the forum members…I sent my XL back to IHUK late last week so it should be back in stock here in the next few days I would guess.  Keep an eye out if you're looking to cop one.

Here's me, in L.  Im not wearing any undershirt, so it will be a bit small on me layering with it.

Crazy im an XL these days.  I used to weigh 135lbs 4 years ago.

From the photo that looks like a brilliant fit. The length in the body and arms is perfect whereas on an XL I think it would be too long.

What do you want to layer with? I wear a-shirts or tees with mine.

EDIT: looking at the photo’s again I can see it is a little trim over the shoulders and you’d need to be careful with washing. Still looks good to me though.

Yeah the shoulder dont line up to where my shoulder breaks.  I usually wear a heavy tshirt or long sleeve.  Also i like it a bit longer, so i think the xl will work.

It looks ok, but it feels a bit snug on me with no shirting on.

As a side note: I'm returning my Large to IHUK. If anyone's looking for this size.

Finally snapped a picture of the new shirt yesterday  😉

Still love the fit on this shirt. Everything seems to fit just right. Hopefully it won't shrink when I cold wash.

You should be fairly safe if you do a cold hand wash and hang dry

Usually after I wash my shirts, I pull the hem and sleeves while it's still damp to get a little extra length, so that might help as well.

This is wise. The side seams are important too.

It is necessary to be aware of the potential for shrinkage in these shirts but it is important not to exaggerate either. With careful washing and air drying the shrinkage is somewhere been zero and negligible. If you hot wash and tumble dry you may lose a cm or at silly temps two. For a lot of people with a regular fit then even that is fine. The most they’ll shrink is half a size.

so i upgraded to an XL.  a bit roomier around my shoulders, but once i put on a shirt with it, it feels a tad tight, but not to the point where im uncomfortable.

please excuse the no pants..  my roomie was in a rush and i tried to get a pic right before he left.

                            here is Large:

                            and XL:

                            thoughts?

I personally like the Large a lot better on you.

I think both look good: the L has obviously a more fitted look whereas the XL has a roomy and relaxed fit. The latter will give you more room for washing as well.

I think you’re best going with the XL but giving it a deliberate hot wash. The sleeves are a little long and you can live with losing a bit in the shoulders and through the body.

                                    Thanks dudes.

Anyone wash these yet?  If so, do you notice a change in fit?

UHF’s from IH are all made more or less the same so the behaviour of the fabric is more or less understood.

The fabric shrinks evenly and proportionally on a medium hot wash (low or no spin, air dry). A very hot wash and tumble drying may distort the fabric a little.

I know US washing machines can be limited when it comes to settings so you could definitely use the hot tub. By a cheap baking thermometer and get the water to 60C, soak the shirt with a little soap and move it around in the water. Air dry on a hanger. You’ll lose 1-2cm in the body and sleeves and around 1cm in the shoulders and chest. The shirt will keep its shape.

That’s as it should be. A 30-40C wash shouldn’t cause any shrinkage.
