how tight are you guys wearing the knees?  i got my 888s tapered and my knee is 8.25'' 12 inches down the inseam.  it is pretty snug but i still dont get honey combs..  maybe go for an even 8''?  just worried ill bend at the knees and the pants will explode if i taper to 8'' lol

Why do you equate a snug knee with honeycombs? Some of the greatest honeycombs you'll ever see are on 634's which have a huge flappy knee. Honeycombs come in from wearing your damn jeans. Walking, cycling, bending down, lifting. They aren't dependant on how snug the knee is.

Wear your jeans buddy! Honeycombs will show up eventually. The photos I posted are at 80 wear days.

I think there must be some kind of mathematical equation like E=MC2 that pertains to the formation of said Honeycombs behind the knee. The bigger the fabric space behind the knee, the bigger the creases will form,creating a larger surface area, that will be impacted by the friction of movement and general wear,resulting in the much desired Honeycomb pattern. But at the end of the day ya gotta wear em.

The knees are tough for sure. I kneel/squat whenever I get the chance at work, picking up paintbrushes, pencils, fallen papers, etc. It can be a chore to cross my legs in these if I'm at all sweaty.

That is a vest and it is the IHV-21. You’ll find it in the Extinct section. Type III vest with a priest’s collar made of the old 18oz and bonded with red felt. Brass snaps for shits and giggles. I love it. Couple of old pics from IG:
