IHM-25 - 14oz Selvedge Denim M-65 Jacket
Initially designed for the US military in 1965, the M65 Jacket is a cold weather field coat. Seen in movies such as Taxi Driver and Terminator, the M65 is now a firm civilian favourite. This Iron Heart version, the outer made from 14oz indigo selvedge denim, remains close to the original, including four front pockets and stand-up collar with a built-in hood, but with additional, useful side hand-warmer and internal pockets, and lined with black cotton chambray.

@jstark overdying is a harsh process and removes all possible shrinkage from a fabric. Given that this and the IHM-20 are cut from the same pattern and the same material it makes sense that the OD version is slightly smaller in almost all dimensions. If this measures bigger it will fit bigger too. That doesn't necessarily mean a whole size in difference though.
Use the "Compare" function at the top of the product page to work out if you will need to size down.

So I'm not going to say this is the best jacket on earth, but it is currently the best jacket on earth that I'm wearing and certainly the best M65 and is going a long way to making its case as my favorite denim jacket, which is a bold statement given my collection of such….Here's some pics folks. Keep in mind, I wear a medium in nearly everything IH--maybe I'm large in UHF, but I was a medium in the overdid M65, but the medium dwarfed me. First images are of the small, following images in the ill fitting medium.
This thing is truly nuts, guys. An added bonus is the high stiff collar makes hoofing the smell of fresh (or wet if it's raining) denim particularly convenient.

That’s how they should fit imho. Short and styled. Good job. If you spend any time at all in the colder parts of the USA then I can highly recommend the IHW-13 in black or grey melton wool. It ticks all the boxes you mention (apart from the denim smell, obvs ) and tackles arctic temperatures to boot.

@jstark did you ever try the IHM-20? I assume this one fits like the 20.

Oh, derp, he did say that! I just looked at the measurements and yep, I would've done the same thing. The medium in the 20 measures closer to a small in the 25.

How about shrinkage on this jacket? Has it been pre-washed like many IH shirts? I just ordered an xxl which looks like it might actually fit my 6’7” frame. Just curious if IH denim jackets are soaked first [emoji2371]

Generally they are once washed. It doesn’t specify on the product page but I’d be very surprised if this was any different.
