IHSH-211 - 17oz Duck CPO Style Shirt - Brown
-
P.s. for some reason I never know where to hold my hands when my picture is taken, so I just go with the “confused limbs” look.
Beautiful shirt and it looks real good on you.
That hand thing is a problem I think we all share [emoji1]

I just tried one of the last two mediums left in stock as the chest measurement lined up well with type iii’s that I own, but alas this shirt is far too snug in the shoulders and arms for me. I really wanted to get in on this shirt before it’s gone, oh well.
Though I’d prefer a large, I do have a chance to buy an XL secondhand, how are other folks finding that fits for them? I’m 6’, 175 lbs with a 43” chest. I compared my vitals to those of Giles and Adam so I suppose I could go with an XL, the chest measurement on this shirt just seems so much larger than anything else I own. Anyone out there with a chest measurement similar to mine rocking an XL and digging it?
-
@dreigh I'm 6ft 1" with a 41" measured chest and weigh 200 pounds and went with the XL and I'm very happy with the fit. Fit is of course a very personal thing but I like to have somewhere between 4 and 5" in tolerance around the chest so would have found the Large a bit too snug for my liking. I tend to wear the IHSH-211 over a t-shirt or thermal, which the XL allows for. FWIW, I have stuck to my usual size in this shirt as I have done in previous CPO and Western purchases.

@robm Thanks so much for your reply! Good to know that the XL works for your chest size, sounds like it ought to work for me then. I do plan on wearing thermals/sweaters under this CPO, hopefully the fit will be right with that. The 22" bottom opening is a bit wider than I am used to, but if it's an issue I may just have the XL tapered in a bit. Either that, or a hot machine wash and machine dry to see if I can squeeze a bit more shrink out of the fabric.
It's settled, I'm buying that XL, fingers crossed!

@dreigh I wish I would have seen this yesterday! I am the one who sold it to you on Grailed. This was a tad small on me, hence the reason I sold it. I am the same height as you and about 10 -15 pounds heavier. You should be good in terms of sizing, I'd suspect. I'd imagine a large would be too small on you. Just assuming, of course.
-
@Welmon I got the XL! Thank you!!
My chest is a good bit bigger than my waist, by about 9” total. As such, I have a great fit in the chest, but more fabric in the opening than I would like. I may take it in for tapering through the body. Then again, if a boxier fit is the intent I may find the will to not tinker with the fit.
What to y’all think?

Personally, I think it looks good. It looks like it will also give you the ablity to layer it. I use a lot of my CPO shirts as jackets, much like @neph93 mentioned.
-
I agree, its a great fit @dreigh, it suits you really well.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on the fit! Unfortunately I just can't quite warm up to it on my frame, at least in the bottom half. I've seen a few CPO fits on the forum that are slightly more fitted through the torso and I just love the look. Seeing the measurements on the large, I think that would have been perfect for me. It is such a great shirt!
jeanwerk.ch shows a size large in stock, but they sadly do not appear to ship to the US. If anyone is in Switzerland and has any interest to a proxy purchase on my behalf, I'll certainly compensate you for the effort, haha!

You know best for yourself, but I’d be concerned about the length on a large. You seem tall and losing an inch off the front length may look odd.
Another thing worth bearing in mind:
All IH gear and especially duck changes with wear and forms itself to the body of the wearer. The hem on this shirt will crease upwards, losing length, the arms will shorten with wear and the material will soften considerably. It will suit you even better when you make it «yours».People come in many different sizes and shapes and not everyone’s fit can be replicated. Best of luck whatever you decide.

^perfectly written. I think it Looks great and is worth keeping. The fir will get even betetr with wear & washing

Fall in MN means it's Duck weather. I love the heft of the CPO pockets. this is a perfect shirt/layering piece.

@neph93 not sure if you were aware (who the heck am i talking to?), but they received an XL in this shirt recently, and it just may fit you.
