^ +1 I love how sophisticated it looks. Would be a nice formal outer piece for the colder months as opposed to my N1…but alas, we just bought a new house so I don't know if it will be in the cards for me given the hefty (but understandable) price tag that will go along with it.

@flavour79 I’ll allow myself to answer for the crew.
Generally @Alex and @Giles won’t have more information than what’s on the spreadsheet until things are ready to ship, which is maybe a week before they arrive. Then it gets posted here.

Not if you take the published estimates with the officially prescribed pinch of salt. Giles calls the schedules “fairytales” for a reason and the first post of the thread says this:
Please note, these are estimates!!
I take the attitude that it will be worth the wait and feel even better when it arrives.

With the bad run of luck they have been having in that part of Japan we're lucky they have shipped anything at all.

@Giles would it even be possible to do something nice for the factory workers who make this stuff? Like take up a collection towards some small gesture to let them know how much we appreciate what they do? I'm not sure what it would be… I was thinking even like a catered lunch or something... But I often fantasize about being rich and buying everyone there a pair of jeans or something. I would definitely chip in for this if the other forum members wanted to as well.

^ that is an interesting thought. Giles, Haraki-san, The Stubborn Crew and the .jp gang all get deserved props for designing, producing and selling all this gear but the workers who run the looms, cut and sew the fabric etc are an enormous part of this too. I wonder if they are aware of how much we appreciate what they do?

If a monetary gift or something wasn't apropos I was thinking maybe a package of thank you cards for a world tour. I'll buy them and we can mail them around and all sign them and send them to all the people who make the stuff.

@Filthy I apologise in advance if I’m not exactly on your wavelength, but what gets me about this thing you’ve raised is that we have these guys, skilled workers, just doing their jobs, who may or may not realise, know and understand the intense interest, passion and (I may be overstating this, but fuck it) love, that a relatively small number of people have for what they make.
Do they know how the fruits of their labour are received? Are they aware of this international community that adore the things they produce? I’m not sure of the best way of communicating these things, and as Giles points out it would be logistically difficult, but I’m definitely interested in working it out.
