How do you feel about the fit on the xl, especially the chest? I'm an xl in the ihj-69 and the sizing looks similar on this type III.

I was hesitant to go XL, as I do well sticking with Sam's sizing, but asked for the smallest chest/shoulder measurements.  The numbers of my XL whip are fairly close to my L 69 cord.  I am very happy with the fit and would have likely felt restricted one size down.

My numbers–Olive XL:

P2P:  21.75"
Shoulders:  18.5
Waist: 19.5
Opening: 20
Length:  25.5

Beige 69 Large:
