Fish’n’Chips 2018 – Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July 2018 in Gosport

So folks, once again dear Haraki san is coming over to Europe, with Tom and Kenta, for Selvedge Run and other activities, so naturally we have persuaded him to spend a couple of days at IHUKHQ in Gosport, which means… it’s time for an Iron Heart get-together!

Very rough plans are:
Friday 6th July – evening meet up for food (fish’n’chips is traditionally eaten on a Friday) and drinks – timings and venue to be confirmed.
Saturday 7th July – gathering at IHUKHQ in Cooperage Green, Gosport, kicking off probably around 3pm, with yakitori barbecue and plenty of liquid refreshment.
I’m not holding any hotel rooms, we are not blessed with much choice of accommodation in or near Gosport, so if you’re able to come and stay a night or two we suggest you book as soon as possible. Some suggestions are:

And @den1mhead fantastic that you and Jules will join us this year, too! @Morose_Penguin there is absolutely no urgency, ideally I'd like to firm up numbers towards the end of June so plenty of time for you to work out if you can sort the holidays (fingers and toes crossed)!

For anyone struggling to find accommodation, there are quite a few listings on Airbnb:
The first listing (double room historic naval building) is within spitting distance, the second listing (private garden studio in calm oasis) is owned by friends and just a 10 min walk away. If you find somewhere and want to check location etc. with me before you book, please do!

Just doing a bit of research regarding getting to Gosport and finding somewhere to stay, all looks ok so far. Gosport Borough Council seem to have overwhelming confidence in their public transport system: "taxis and buses are usually available"
How does that work? Is it best to ring in the morning and check if they feel like running a bus service that day.

In my experience, the buses are pretty reliable. No idea about the taxis.
