@Lowlander Could you please post a link to the product? I just found something at the local supermarket which says that it is capable of taking oil stains out. Fingers crossed.

This is the product I use, but I think it's Dutch. https://www.dr-beckmann.nl/onze-producten/detail/prewash-spray/

But you're in Germany, right? I'm sure something similar must be available there.

I kind of purchased the same, but the soap version of it. I just tried it on the spot where the oil spill happened. It is wet now. Will post here the updates as soon as it dries up. Fingers crossed.

Good luck! Though be careful with it. I think it's quite aggressive stuff. My bottle says you should not let it dry on the stain but wash it out 10 minutes or so after applying.

This is a very interesting discussion. Curious how it turns out. Well, I hope.
Before and after pics would be quite curious.

I will post some pictures as soon as it is dried. I guess the stain has not completely vanished. May be I might treat it again with the gall soap. The biggest mistake that I did was after the oil spill, I was just lazy and just left the shirt next to the washing machine for weeks together. It was only yesterday did I throw it into the washing machine only to realize that the oil has nicely soaked into the fabric deep enough. Lesson learnt, not to be lazy anymore.

Yea I see it. Fortunately the fabric creaste a bit of textured shading naturally. Kinda hides stains.

@Jett129 I'm not a vest kind of guy, but I like the idea. I work in an office setting and I can already say that wearing IH gear for office, I'm the odd man out. If I add another vest over my shirt, I'm in a different world while at work.

I trust that if I treat my shirt, the stain with another round of the gall soap, it should make it disappear.

I think so too! The shirt is definitely not a lost case. Beautiful evo too.

If the oil has not yet gummed / resinified, you may want to try out diatomaceous earth. I don't know how it is called where you are located - where I am I can buy it in the pharmacy. It works by absorbing the oil (or other liquids) because it is a powder composed of very small particles that create a huge surface area. This has strong absorbing properties and effectively sucks oil out of fabric. It was even possible once to clean a wood table stained with wax from a candle by using a flat iron to melt the wax first.

To remove an oil stain, I simply sprinkle some of the power over the stained area and let it rest over night, then shake it off and wash the piece. Btw. the ground breaking discovery of Alfred Nobel was to use this stuff as a stabilizer for creating dynamite, so its quite famous.

Curious if these stretch out a little? Let me start by saying im 5'11" 175lbs. The definition of average. The forearms are so tight i can hardly touch my face, the arm pits are strange in a way that I get this big fold above the chest pockets.  It's the 7th iron heart shirt I've tried and only two have worked out. I'm getting sick of spending 35 dollars to try on shirts that fit goofy. I know these are the best shirts in the world and the customer service is the best I've experienced. I'm in no way saying bad things about iron heart but I'm just sad that it's looking like I can't wear the brand and like I said I couldn't be more average in body type.

What size and cut of shirt have you been buying?

@HalfPastNever let me start with saying that serge is a stubborn fabric to begin with, if i compare it to 12oz or even 18oz denim. But the points you are talking about would give me the thought that you have to size up. In anyway a fabric can feel stubborn or stiff but shouldn’t never restrict you to move comfortably. Size doesn’t say a think.. charts are key, i have L, XL and XXL. Measure your best fitting shirt in the IHUK way and compare those with the IHUK charts 🙂 i don’t wanna sound smart only try to give you advice mate!

Yeah, I like western cuts in large only but I'm really stubborn about shirts fitting trim and when I size up to an XL…the length is so long I would have to have the sleeves and body shorten by atleast 2 inches. If that can be done then I would do it. It just sucks you spend 330-375 on a shirt and need another 50 in hemming and most like won't be done by someone who can match factory quality.

Yeah I understand what you're saying. I try to match the proper chest size and go from there. As always the length is so long that if I size up, I need 2 inches from the sleeves and body length taken off and also the body is too baggy. I like trim fit clothing and I would need the whole garment altered.

Again, im just bummed that almost zero of the shirts fit proper and I'm an average guy.  Looking for solutions before I send yet another shirt back.
