IH-666S-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans - SBG

Just received my haul from the sale!
My first pair of IH jeans in the 666s SBG, Indigo Kersey Western Shirt and an OGL belt.

Really happy with the 666 cut but I'm tempted to send them back for hemming as I'm conscious that they might bunch up around the ankles in anything that isn't a pair of Birkenstocks [emoji23]

What do y'all experts think of the fit? Should I expect a little shrinkage with washes? To hem or not to hem?

I would say that’s really personal preference.
Some like em hemmed, some stack them and others prefer a turnup. I would make it depend on the footwear.
In any case I would always wash them prior to hemming to get the shrinkage out of the way.

Not 100% sure, but I very much doubt it. 21oz denim doesn’t need it.

I have had a marbling nightmare on my SBGs - see photo.  100 wears in and after some work in the garden, (somehow) I washed them without turning inside out, etc.

Any hints how to save my SBGs?

Wear ‘em some more! Those marbles will ahem fade into the background with more wear. You could also just wash them a few more times and go for a good ole washed Levi’s look

Roughly 70 full days wear, office based mainly so no hard labour, but developing nicely nonetheless.

Been rained on a few times but feel no need to wash them anytime soon.

Great purchase, love 'em!

The time has come for a wash after an unfortunate incident with some tomato ketchup this morning…

To avoid marbling, I plan to wash inside-out at 30c on a low spin cycle.

Is there anything else I can do to reduce the risk of this? I don't normally baby my jeans but I've read that this SBG denim is prone to unpredictability when washing...

@T4920 Presoak the jeans inside out in the bath or shower (only need to get them throughly wet) before putting in the wash.  Additionally, I always wash my SBG or ducks with a no spin wash cycle.  They will come out of the wash dripping wet, but it is worth the hassle.  Lastly, do not turn them right side out until completely air dried.
