What’s the size guidance with these belts? I ask because I’m right smack dab in the middle of the M and L, measuring out with my favorite belts to 34 inches. So do I go with a medium and wear it on the 5th (last hole) or the L and wear it on the 1st hole? I would think M knowing that the leather will stretch a bit, but I'd worry that wearing a belt on the last or second to last hole is going to look odd.

For those of you between sizes; which way did you go and why?

Go for the larger size and cut it down so that it fits.

I have only had (needed) one IH belt in the last 15 or so years, but I sized mine so that it fitted perfectly when on the middle hole.  I suspect I have subsequently used all the other holes as my weight has deviated/had large lunches/been on a pub crawls/worn jeans with different rises etc etc......

I have a friend who has been shedding weight over the last 4 years or so, every so often, we lop another inch off his belt....

Love it. Thank you. I completely missed the how-to video link.

The next question becomes; what size(s) hole punch do I need? After all, I always welcome another excuse to buy more tools.  😉

ETA: after a brief interwebbing session, I see kits are more the norm.  So the better question is; which brand of punches are reccomended?

If you’re in the USA Tandy makes a decent kit. Just make sure you use a ruler and take your time to make sure it’s centered.

I just tried my belt after opening the parcel and it creased and scuffed (much more than my Hanks belts which I have had for months). Is this standard for just trying the belt for about 10 minutes?

Pretty much not possible to capture it with camera… It just looks like the belt has been worn for months.

A crease surely would be visible to a camera.  Scuffing would be harder depending on lighting conditions.

Can you take a picture of the crease?

Okay… I like when products get marks and stuff but this just doesn't look good to me. I'm sure other people will like it though. I'm hoping I can return it even though it got marked because I truly have only tried it for 10 minutes super carefully...

                                            1. The veg-tanned leather we use is super prone to the slightest scuff and scratch, if you cant deal with that, return it.  If you can, then you will be rewarded with an amazing belt that will get better with age, use and abuse.  I have been wearing nothing but for about 17 years and suspect, I only have about 15 more to go before I replace it.

                                            2. If you think something is faulty or you don't like it, your first port of call should be shop@ironheart.co.uk.
