Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…
-
Green for sure!
-
I agree with @sabergirl that the square green frames look the best.
-
@louisbosco I am sure you already know this but Sheridan is one of only a couple or few JMMs that has clip-on sunglass lenses available. I too like the green on you.
-
@mclaincausey these are the blemishes:
You can see the consistent, almost concentric bit marks on the top of the frames and you can feel them with a fingernail. I only noticed them once in bright sunlight/ kitchen light. It isnt a huge deal, so I’ll probably let it go, but I’ll definitely scrutinize the frames a bit more in the future. One thing to note is that I bought this pair from a local dealer, so it is possible someone polished them before putting them in the display? My Mollino came directly from JMM and are flawless and I’ve worn them twice as often.
I have noticed the same thing! Its more noticeable on my black frames. Not a big deal just curious as to why this happens. Pictured is the Jeff and my everyday Torinos.

I guess to a degree the imperfections of handmade or hand-finished items is desirable, but for me that crosses the line. I am guessing they just failed to do a finishing polish on those areas.
Maybe they are scaling too quickly–they do seem omnipresent--or maybe shit just happens.
-
@mclaincausey I'll reach out to JMM and see what they say.
-
I’m also partial to the green, but I prefer the frame shape of the pair in the top pic.
+1

cheers everyone. I'm shocked that everyone likes the green! maybe I ought to give it another chance!
@goosehd I didn't posted any sunnies yet. but I'll probably be looking to get another jax in clear frames.
@sabergirl thanks!! although, I'm trying to move away from more square-ish frames to a more in-between kind. slight round and slight rectangle..
@mclaincausey AHHH! no I didn't but that's good to know! haven't had any clip on styles before! not sure I'd wear clip ons much, but it might be a time to start..
I have a couple more designs I'll look into before I make a decision! (Fontaine and Percier)
-
@mclaincausey I'll reach out to JMM and see what they say.
Thank you for contacting Jacques Marie Mage! I hope that you are doing well.
I'm sorry to see your frames in this condition! This can be caused by conditions in which they are kept, oil from handling, and wear and tear. It looks like they could use a buff and polish, which we do offer at our warehouse for a fee.
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
I didn't even know they offer this service. Good to know!
-
Sweet! I wonder if the place you procured them can polish acetate? Might be a free service and wouldn't have to ship them off. If it is truly wear-and-tear and not a QC issue, it does make em wonder if @Anesthetist 's were a re-stocked item.
-
@mclaincausey all of mine are direct from JMM or 1269. 1269 has always been good to me. Its not enough to send them in just for a polish. I'll get it done when I switch the lenses.
-
there ya go! awesome, glad there's a fix on the horizon
