@BrianA i seem to have this problem too.

I wanted a slimmer thigh too so i almost bought a 555. Told myself to wait for the 666 to be release and then decide. I finally go with the 666 size 38, which is my usual size as my other 2 666s. But the thing with the SLB is that it is so soft and the thigh is even roomy than my 14oz 666 and that is not what i wanted. What i can suggest for you is to tell them to check if they have a pair starting with a 37". My starting waist measurement for the 666-SLB is 38.1. I feel like i can go with a "Bigger 36" measurements. Hope this helps.

Question.  If i get a 35 and my waist is a 35 will the the waist stretch?  I wouldn't want them to.  I'd be buying the 35 so the thighs fit well.

From the product page: "The waist will stretch out approximately one inch with wear"

So yes the waist will stretch out approximately one inch with wear.

BUT.  Measuring your waist size is a very inaccurate way of measuring what tag-size you will need.  You need to do measure a pair that currently fit you well, the way we articulate on each product page…

Yes all of my current jeans that fit measure approx 35 so I would be getting the exact size without stretching.

You need 34 inches it will stretch one inches and become 35

Then you'll need a waist that measures around 34" if you want to end up at 35".

Ok thanks.  Trying to figure out what size/ lot might work for me. First timer.  Leaning towards the 888.

                      Not easy, I remember myself.

If you have athletic thighs then then the 555 may not work. The taper from thigh to knee is pretty wicked, and the waist/thigh ratio is big (ie. the waist measures big but the thigh measures small).

If you want a smaller hem then the 777 doable, because it has a bigger knee measurement, so a little more room in the thigh.

The 888 is a bigger version of the 777 but with a different top block. Comfy relaxed fit but the taper and top block make it sharp still. You'd need a w34 in those.

The 634 and 666 are straight cuts, mixing tradition with a sharp modern edge. The 666 is slimmer with a trim top block.

I think I might just be a little bit confused because the front rise, back rise, and thighs are all comparably smaller in the 666s for the slubby denim (in at least the size 36 and 38 where I'm looking) though I keep reading on the forum and IH site that it's the 555 that's suppose to be slimmer cut in the top block. I'd prefer whichever is roomier and that's looking like the 555s (and not the 666s) but that seems wrong because the 555s are said to be the slimmest cut jeans you've got.  Is there something I'm missing or not understanding?

@BrianA, I can't compare the 555S-SLB to the 666S-SLB, but my slubby 555s definitely have a more roomie top block than both of my non-slubby 666s.  The taper from the thighs down though is much greater in my 555s.
