These arrived about a week ago, Tagged 33.  Day one, as you know, was tough but since then I have loved wearing them.  I think after a hot soak they'll fit just a bit better, but for now I think this will work.  After wearing I probably could had sized down by one but I decided don't need a full-on tight fit.  These definitely have a higher rise and more taper than my 633S and PIH5DCS.  Love the darkness of the denim.  This should be an interesting fading process.

Hi bud! Have you got any recent update pictures from them? How’s developing?

Hello and greetings to all!  I have a pair of these on the way and I am curious as to if any of you have put these on and soaked in a hot bath to get the "shrink to fit" look?  I am curious as to the shrinkage that took place.  Is it really only 1" in the inseam and waist as the product details suggest, or did you find it more/less?

I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the New Year!

            Cheers~

They’ll shrink initially but they’ll then stretch out beyond pre-soak measurements, and the stretch will be turbo charged if you put them on damp, also with a risk of sagging around the knees etc. I would soak them hot, lots of agitation to get all the shrink out, let them air dry then break them in by wearing.

So what about the length?  1"?  The length surely will not stretch back out as there is no vertical pressure (other than gravity and weight of leg).  If someone had, say, gotten them hemmed at 32.5" and could not suffer length loss below 31.5" inches, are they safe?  …asking for a friend 🙂

You’ll probably lose an inch. I pretty much never get jeans hemmed, but if I did I’d do it after I’d soaked them and tried them on 🙂 if you don’t want to do that I would give yourself a spare inch and a half and you can rock a slightly bigger/double cuff to fine tune the length

I would think you’ll be safe with the length. I hot soaked and hot tumble dried mine and I don’t think they shrunk all that much in the length. I can measure if you like.

Soaks before wearing them, that what prefer I to do all the time.

If you would do that I would really appreciate it.  Washing (machine?) and tumble-drying would, in my opinion, be the ultimate predictor and tester of shrink.

.        The actually shrank a little more than I had, originally thought about 1.5 inches.

If your washing regime is 30-40C with low spin (which it should be imho), then you will lose an inch maximum, probably less. Higher temps, higher spin, tumble drying, will result in more.

You can also mitigate leg shrinkage by giving the inseams a sustained tug (ooh, vicar), while the jeans are drying.
