      @cricca:

If I compare 555-xhs to 555s-sbg, size 31 in xhs equals size 32 in sbg, but sbg are one washed.

This is for a number of reasons, the two main ones being that XHS shrinks, so will be closer to the W31 SBG after a wash, but also due to the nature of the denim, thicker denim, fatter seams, give bigger external measurements.

Regarding W32 SBG, consider the waist on your size 31’s, then add two inches (one for sizing up, one for stretch). Will they be too big?

I guess they will be a bit big but I can live with that.
But now I'm also starting to consider the XHSbb …

I've been buying IH jeans for over eight years and as well as being someone who likes nice clothes I'm also a bit of a geek. I've lost count of how many pairs I've tried. I've tried all the cuts and most of the denims, including both cuts and denims that aren't available any more.

At the moment I am embracing straight cuts. The 634, work pants, the 666 (when I can make the thigh work). Before that I was a huge fan of the 888. I started with the 555 though, but I am too thicc to wear it with comfort.

It should be said that I am a very different build to you.

If the XHSbb is a similar size to your XHS then you know they'll work so that is a good bet, worth the extra $$$. That being said, imho the 666 looks amazing on tall slim folks, but it is a slim straight cut though. If your preference is for tapered then you may not enjoy it.

ok 🙂 I like the high rise on the 555… and that they are slimmer then 666

Below the thigh they are slimmer due to the taper. The top block and top of the thigh on the 666 are slimmer than the 555. From knee to hem they are wider.

yeah, I had a pair of 666s-21. Did not use them for 10 months since I bought the 555xhs. Then I had to use them once and could not believe that I wore those before buying the 555  ::)

There you go… cut preference is a weird thing. I used to love taper but now I adore a big hem.

Took your advise, just ordered XHSbb … Cant believe I spent this much on a pair of jeans haha, but my XHS were absolutely worth it so at least I dont think I'll regret it 🙂

@cricca I have been wearing a pair if XHSbb lately and love em. "Wear them like they owe you money," -I can't remember who said that on here.

You made a good choice as they break in super nicely. Mine are a little big in the waist but I think it makes then easier to wear compared to a tighter pair

Hey so I need some advice if possible…

I have 777-142 in size 38 and also 888-21 in size 38. I like both respectively, but I want to add a black pair as those two I have are indigo. The 555 seem like a perfect balance between the two current models I have, slightly lower front and back rise than the 888 but slightly higher than 777. And if I were to say I had any issues with the 777 it would the back rise is a tiny bit short, but in the 888 the back rise is slightly too high. Otherwise the measurements between the 777 and 555 look pretty comparable in size 38. Would the 555 be what I am expecting or is there anything else I should know? I can post fit pics or both denims I own if that would help but I’m going based on measurements alone right now. Thanks I’m advance!

@hgering27 only thing I’d say is to be careful of the knee measurement on the 555. The 777 and 888 cuts have a consistent taper from top down to the hem. With the 555 however, almost all of the taper occurs from the top down to the knee, from which point it is pretty straight down to the hem.

Having said all that, they’re all great cuts and I own pairs in all 3. I wear a 33 in the 555 and 888, and prefer a 34 in the 777. I bet you’ll be fine with a 38, but keep an eye on the knee.

@jerkules thanks man! I ordered them yesterday so we shall see tomorrow how the fit is. The knee measurement in size 38 on the 555 is a tad smaller, but nothing that should be an issue (hopefully)

Based on measurements alone, these look like they could be the perfect fit I am looking for. All 3 will be in 38, however the 777 in 38 are definitely a tad big in the waist, nothing crazy, but definitely a larger fit than my 888, which were a lot more snug at first and required some stretching to get comfortable. Fingers crossed

I’m already eager to get the 555 in indigo next, but need to wait a bit while I give some loving to the 888
