@LewisStonehouse here is a photo dump of my pair, as requested. Just over a month of wear, 4-5 days a week. Some of the coloration is dust, which is more brown whereas the fades are charcoal and chalky.

After first cold soak with no agitation. I put a little detergent in there because we have two four month old golden retrievers. I wanted to be careful with this pair, so no washing machine and no heat followed by laying gently on a laundry rack with old towels on the porch. Hopefully they will dry by morning for work tomorrow. I think I'm at around seven weeks wearing five-six times/week.

Heck yeah dude. I started breaking mine in late in August when the humidity and heat was quite high…that was tough as hell but after it cooled down the process was much easier. It's hard to remember breaking in my XHSib to compare but both were wildly stiff!
Glad to hear your pair is showing some ashy spots. I like your phrasing with ash grey compared to charcoal grey, though the color differential is pretty much the same. Ash just sounds cooler imo.
I kind of kicked myself in the ass when I passed on the Pronto/IH slubs last week...but that glorious pair would have taken all the spotlight away from these XHSbb so I'm still happy
