Guilty Pleasures…
-
@Filthy:
I've been wearing women's cologne for a while now. Just this one, not like a thing I am into… but I love how this particular one smells.
I have a small sample because a real bottle is obscenely expensive... I saw it at a mall and sniffed it and now I'm hooked. A big bottle of it is a grand. So like I hope I fall out of love with it soon.
Smells like lavender, VERY flowery (not skunky) cannabis, chamomile, leather and peppercorn. Maybe a very small spice of patchouli note too depending on how sweaty I get. Almost has a plastic-like fragrance.
No shame in that at all to me. I collect frags and some of my fave masculine perfumes were ladies scents 80 years ago.

Is it weird that IH is one of my guilty pleasures? Other than the IH pieces I have, I typically wear CCP, BBS and Rick pretty much exclusively. It’s a fun little indulgence to mix in the occasional UHF or 21oz SBG denim with that stuff.
Other than that, it’s definitely 80’s hair metal.
I'm totally with you!
If I had to go up in front of a group of people who knew me decently well, and tell them what I was really into that they probably didn't know about, it would be Japanese denim. Iron Heart specifically.
It's a guilty pleasure because sure, I could totally wear $25 jeans, so why do I need $400 jeans? And even as a 40 year-old man, my mom would whoop my ass of she knew how much I've spent on denim
We’re at totally opposite ends of that spectrum. Everyone who knows me expects my pants to cost at least $1200.

The Princess Diaries - possibly the best movie ever…..
Ohh, this reminded me of how much I love The Devil Wears Prada.
-
I love cartoons. Looney toons - Red & Stimpy - Animaniacs - Rick & Morty - Family Guy…Etc..........
If you can, watch Grizzy & Lemmen. I think it’s Canadian actually. It’s like Roadrunner on steroids. «For kids» but absolutely genius.
We love old King of the Hill, Simpsons, & Bob’s Burgers [emoji2]
Downloading GRIZZY & LEMMINGS… I oughta re-watch PINKY & THE BRAIN as well... Fond memories... Same with REN & STIMPY... Grew up with old SIMPSONS eps of course... I even distinctly remember the anticipation of the first FUTURAMA ep being aired here... Still need to watch S02 of DISENCHANTMENT come to think of it...
I wanna add SOUTH PARK, ARCHER, BOJACK HORSEMAN and SUPERJAIL! to the list though... All very different, all very brilliant... And let's not forget ADVENTURE TIME WITH FINN AND JAKE...
Also: what constitutes as "old" KOTH @Anesthetist? "Judge" series 1-7?.. I absolutely love KOTH… Have the DVD box for S01-07...

One of my all time favorites for sure man!
So I collect mid century American & Italian everything. So every time I go on vacation I hit up all the antique malls and estate sales. I am really selective about what I buy but the thrill of the chase is addicting.

Barbie: Life In The Dreamhouse is pretty great.

I’m glad to see there is so much love for animated stuff! I’ve watched my share of Barbie (kids) and love Archer (definitely not kids) too.
@neph93 Meant to tell you that we are certified Phineas & Ferb nuts right now. Kids made me make a Spotify playlist of all the show’s songs and normally it would drive me crazy but they are so damn funny and catchy that I enjoy listening with them. Also, there is a very strong possibility that I will be wearing an adult platypus costume for Halloween.
️ Again, no shame.

There are countless mornings Where I drop the kiddos off at school and forget to turn off the Disney Songs playlists while I drove to work…
Sometimes I’ll catch myself singing sling and change it, but most of the time I just let it ride haha
And JoJo Siwa is a national treasure…

Fountains of Wayne did the songs for Phineas and Ferb. They are a truly underrated band. Adam Schlesinger's death last year was depressing.

Watching too much HGTV. Had the foyer, and WC, loo, powder room, whatever you want to call it painted.

I've been trying to think of a way to articulate this so it's actually legible/enjoyable to read, but I'll probably just shorten it a bit and see if it lands.
I'd say my guilty pleasure is finding something I want, obsessing over it, and finding the best deal possible by scouring the internet or stores to locate it.
Most recently I was looking for a pair of dress/sneaker crossover shoes I could wear to the office and to my side hustle on the weekend that were more comfortable than my J. Crews and could be worn with jeans too. I looked into Cole Haan, Johnston and Murphy, Mephisto and others before landing on a pair of Samuel Hubbard shoes ($295). They are designed in Mill Valley, CA (made in Portugal) which is where my wife and I vacationed in Feb. '19 so there is some love for the story behind them.
I found the style and color i wanted, and then looked into ebay, poshmark, and every stockist for the best price possible. Finally found a store in Chicago that had them at a 50% discount, but only in size 9.5 which is not my size. I then crafted an email and sent it to every other stockist that had my size available asking if they would price match even though the sizes were different.
After a bunch of "No's", one finally said Yes. The shoes are on the way to me for $150.
I feel great pleasure for successfully pulling it off, and guilty as all hell about how much time i spent messing around online for the purchase.
