IHSH-311-GRN - Ultra Heavy Flannel Western Shirt - Tartan Check - Green
-
I know a lot seem to be more stoked on this as a work shirt, but I'm a western UHF guy through and through
-
…@Joberwocky ditto and Amen!
-
Woohoo, copped one, gotta keep that closet of flannels looking like a rainbow
-
I would be all over this one , If I didn't already have a pile of green shirts
-
I'm in the opposite camp @BD81 I've got one green shirt and it's the more pale jalapeno chambray, so this will be a solid pickup. As much as I love the purple UHF coming out, I picked up the purple rain one last year (purple/black/red) and have to try my damnedest not to go UHF crazy this season

It is an absolutely cracking colour way…. Great pick up.
-
I wish I would have grabbed a purple rain. I have enough of them for now hough, I'm going to focus on denim and other fabrics for a while or until a uhf that I just can't resist drops.
Enjoy your shirt man! It's def a sick colorway

While I may be in the minority, the over the top patterning in the Western because of the additional yokes and pocket flaps works for me. The Work is easily a cleaner looking shirt, but I dig how busy this comes off
-
@Joberwocky it is rare that a work shirt outsells the western on the first day. Not unheard of, but rare. Generally speaking westerns sell far more than work shirts in every department. Hard to guess the reasons why it happened this time, but I'd guess it has to do with this pattern having been made five or six years ago in a western, and the fact that this iteration was released after the work shirt.
Imho work shirts and westerns are both great. When it comes to UHF's I'm leaning more to work shirts these days, but often it is personal idiosyncrasies that determine which pattern I feel works best with which cut. For example, the upcoming purple UHF is perfect as a work shirt, while the black and red number works best as Western.

I think there's something about how solid the doubled up shoulder feels that I like about a western, that and flap pockets. Being fairly short, I also think the trimmer fit of the Western works better for my size. Im also a fan of snaps on a heavier weight shirt, though I see some recent work shirts have been getting snaps, so that's a plus.
All in all they're both great styles and I dig that they're both "relatively" readily available. If I break down and get the purple this year, or finally get a red buffalo check, I'll most likely go work just to have some variety. I think the work shirt cut works better as a shacket. Now if I could get a few more colors/patterns in the same fabric as my 7oz blue work shirt, that'd be a different story altogether -
I missed out on this one the first time around…no way I was going to miss it this time. Watching the OG’s wearing theirs, made me a little envious.
Now maybe I can join the cool club
I'm newer to IH, so seeing older pics of this shirt had me, dare I say, green with envy. Had to pick it up this go round
-
Been about two years or close to it since I got any IH. But got me one of these with pearl snaps. I love me UHF!
-
I’m assuming that you guys are referring to the 107 when talking about this UHF being previously released? Of course it’s not exactly the same pattern and the 107 wasn’t a herringbone weave, colors are the same though. I would say this bad boy is gonna be a classic in its own right!
This was the one I had my eyes on so I copped one pronto at release, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
-
…couldn't make the purchase this morning from my iphone at work (password issue). 4 XXXXL's up for grabs. 10 minute drive back home with numbers dwindling. 2 left. Now one is mine. :o
...this will be my first UHF and this will be my last green shirt.
...'Green Acres' UHF!
I just love the Western shirts.
-
…@Jordonf9 I stayed with the black snaps but really want to see your shirt with the white snaps, that's gonna be nice.
...hope @mclaincausey doesn't mind but here's that earlier iteration of the Green UHF I think you're talking about. Great shirt and what got me to pull the trigger on this one!
-
Very stoked for you @vaquero357 you're gonna love it. It is a perfect shirt for MN, it reduces the amount of layering necessary in the winter. I love it over a black IH henley for example. Guessing it won't be your last UHF. This one gets the most compliments of any garment I own. The one above came in three excellent colorways, but this and the IHSH-87 are probably my favorite UHF.
