@weftyarn sorry I didn't see this until now. You just copy and paste the link. Nothing fancy necessary.

Hi @neph93  (sorry), it is an Aero Dustbowl, and thank you.

It has a bit of a personality just like my IH jeans in fact.

Heavy horse hide (finish is called Battered Seal….)

The colour and texture are glorious. My preferred colour for a leather jacket would be that kind of brown, but I feel my preferred styles work best in black. Hence I have yet to take the plunge.

As with most of my pics the colour is much better in RL. It has started to develop breaking in tones (just like a pair of IH) which add to it's depth and richness. It is also starting to show it's grain.

I would normally tend to the black (and steel) choice as well however a good mahogany gives a lot more flex (now that someone has pinched my flowing black locks and replaced 30% with this grey stuff).

Does anyone know if the denim breaks in similarly to the overdyed 21oz? My 888s-od’s are the best fit I’ve ever had and I’m wondering if I could expect the same from these. I don’t really care about a break-in period,  as long as they’ll fit the same eventually

Njaaa… I have both the IH-888s-OD and the IH-888-XHS. They are the same cut, but the denim is very different. They will fit you in a similar way for sure, but there will be differences because of the nature of the denim n

Despite only 4oz difference in weight the 25oz is a tighter weave and a much stiffer denim out of the bag. You also have some slight shrinkage going in this fabric, while the OD has none, and stretches very easily.

So it won’t be exactly the same, but it will still have a similar shape and contours.

Would you say that the OD has a bit more give to it whereas the xhs would retain its original shape? The od fit great off the rack, so I’d be okay with that

XHS stretches too, it just shrinks first, but the OD stretches a lot more, so yes I’d say it holds its form better.

K, it says it’s sanforized but unwashed. Does that mean I should wash it when I buy it or wait until it’s ready for a wash? Maybe it’d be best to avoid that shrinkage at first

I would definitely hot soak XHS and try to get all the shrinkage out before you wear them. You can do this by soaking in the hottest water possible and you don't have to wash them

Man, such heavy denim too tight sounds miserable. I wonder how long it would take for that waist to stretch back out. Maybe I should go on a diet to prepare

I hot soaked my XHSib 777 before I wore them the first time (tried them on, new they would stretch to be comfortable, straight into a tub of the hottest water my sad apartment can muster).  The first day was uncomfortable, but I'd say end of day one I wasn't noticing it as much.  I'm a designer in a woodshop and find myself up and down at my desk and the stairs to the shop alot during the day, moving around for sure helped

This is what I was afraid of, that and I wanted to know right off the bat how my jeans would feel at their most shrunk
