That's one funny thing about British Sports, there is usually lots of Alkohol involved  ;). Pimm's that's Ascot or is it Wimbledon? Nasty stuff, especially when it's hot. Tastes like lemonade… and suddenly you don't know how to keep the feet on the ground. As a student I visited a friend during Eights Week, can't remember ever been more drunken  😶

God has blessed you richly, so get down on your knees and thank him. Don’t forget the less fortunate or God will personally kick your ass. I’d love to do it for him, but I can’t be everywhere. Willie Nelson

@Chap  :D. I once went to a minor league baseball game (double header), where the weather was gorgeous (warm and sunny) and we had fantastic seats that were front row on the first base line.  The beer was especially good that day and I had my fair share.  The batter hit a line drive towards us and in my drunken stupor, I reached out over the railing to try and catch the ball, promptly falling over the railing and landing on the field.

My friends helped me back into the stands and we decided it was better to go home before we were asked to.

I dunno, I might put up a Masshole at a Bruins game, a Sconnie at a Packers game, Philadelphia sports fans anywhere, etc against just about anyone for alcohol consumption at a sporting event, but I could be way off. Pimm's Cup is a Wimbledon tradition, no? I have no idea why someone invented Pimm's (serious, WTF is it supposed to be?), but a Pimm's Cup is IMO very refreshing on a hot day–there's a reason New Orleans seized onto it so fiercely.

          Think it, be it.

My most embarrassing moment at a sports game (that I can recall) was at an Avalanche (ice hockey) game. There was a family in front of us and a kind of awkward teen son in front of me. Somehow I managed to spill beer on my seat, and for some reason my instinct was to rake it off the seat, showering the kid in front of me with beer. I was mortified. We slunk out of the game like Homer Simpson disappearing into a hedge.

              JD SPORTS....

"Executive chairman Peter Cowgill's total pay, including a short-term salary reduction, reached nearly £5m.

Shareholder advisory group Glass Lewis recommends that investors vote against JD Sports' "inappropriate" pay policy.

The retailer received £61m through the UK furlough scheme and an estimated £38m in business rates relief.

It benefitted from an additional £25m in wage support from other countries where it operates, including the US.

JD Sports was also granted a £300m loan through the Bank of England's Covid Corporate Financing Facility Scheme which was set up to help larger firms through the pandemic."

I am now getting a phone call every day from the track and trace team.  Whilst I support the initiative, asking me the same questions every time is beginning to wear a bit thin.

                e.g.

Q - Have you arrived from a foreign country recently?
A - Well I said yes the last 2 times you called, but I've now changed my mind - WTF do you think?

Today, when I asked do they not keep a record of what I answered previously, the person on the other end of the phone said, "we have your previous answers in front of us, but we have to ignore them when going through the script"

Does someone not realize how counterproductive it is to piss people off.  I am a massive believer in doing what is necessary to get us rid of this scourge, but Jesus I could top the next fucker who phones me up….

I know.  And I have the utmost sympathy for them.  But some fuckwit somewhere is making them do this and I maintain, as a strategy it is counter-productive.  Now, all I want to do is ban the incoming phone number.

miss the next call and report back. Social experiment for us.

Really broken system to call every day for sure. Wasting everyone's time. Poor folks asking the questions all day, they must be 100x more mental about it than you.. do them a favour and don't answer next time 🙂

I'm going to answer and be really nice, but will ask who I contact to "make suggestions" on how to improve

I got the J and J vaccine today. I feel pretty weird. It might be because I haven't eaten anything yet today or anxiety about side effects. Been chugging Gatorade like crazy.

Stay hydrated, yo!  I drove myself crazy about the potential side effects. Don't do that to yourself.  Relax, drink lots of water or Gatorade, watch some TV or play some video games.

I guess my vaccine is working… I feel like I can't get warm enough and achy all over. I feel awful.

@Filthy I was a bit rough for a couple of days after mine (moderna), similar kind of stuff. At least now you'll have excellent 5G signal :-\

I got achy and a fever after my second dose of Pfizer. Went away after a day.  Rest.

I laid in bed about four hours moaning until I got the courage to go downstairs and take some Tylenol. I maybe don't feel as bad as I did before.

It seems like the vaccines give you a mini flu that lasts for a day or two without major symptoms.

I'll keep checking on you, Filthy 🙂

My second Moderna shot kicked my ass for 48 hours.  I didn't feel too awful, just exhausted.  I was fatigued as hell for the weekend after but felt normal again after a few days.
