Matt's New Mexico (Formerly Airstream) Adventure
-
Placed an offer on a 4 br 2 ba in NM near Albuquerque on Sat. Offer accepted on Sun. Stepped foot in NM for the first time today. We just visited the house with the realtor. Fortunately we made a good choice.
This is going to affect our travel plans moving forward but I’m not sure how exactly. I’ll keep you all posted.

Nice! Where are you going to park the trailer?
-
The Tin Palace will be on the market soon. We bought it pre COVID and the RV market exploded after the lockdown so we stand to make a good bit of money from the sale. The kids likely won’t want to go back to this life so once we’re settled we’ll probably get something smaller so we can continue our journeys less frequently until they move out. When they go Katie and I plan on getting back into it.
-
Wow that happened fast! Congratulations
-
That must be be a relief to have a place to really call home! CONGRATULATIONS!
-
Thank you both.
Yeah, the Rio Rancho area has great schools, awesome neighborhoods with lots of parks and the average amount of time on the market is a day. We couldn’t afford to wait so when we saw one we liked we checked all the vitals and pounced. We were one of 15 offers after just a few hours being for sale. Lucky for us we made a cash offer.

Yea they go quick because there are so many people there. I hope they’ve completed the construction on Highway 550, because that has been a nightmare for a looong time. Bosque brewing built a new brewery there a few years ago near Highway 313. It’s really nice, right by the rio
-
If they have finished finally then it will be GLORIOUS! That was an essential improvement. You should’ve seen how they had to shift traffic during construction. Insert puke emoji

Congrats! Hope the move goes smooth. How’s everyone feeling about finally settling down? Ya’ll have been on one hell of an adventure.
-
Thank you! We’re all ready. We’ve spent the past few days checking out the town and furniture shopping. We’re all chomping at the bit to get in there and spread out. Honestly though it seems like we haven’t been at it that long. I expected it to go a lot for there but the timing is right now.
-
Wow - a lot has happened since the last time I checked in on this thread.
Never had kidney stones but did come across this photo earlier this week while scrolling through Reddit… kidney stone under electron microscope.
On a brighter note, congrats on the new place @Matt ! Never been to ABQ but always mean to - a good friend lives in the Laguna Pueblo nearby (relatively). It has been an incredible ride so far - sorry to hear about selling the Tin Palace but glad that you'll come out on top. Other option is just park it on the street and use as a rental property given how your neighborhood is in-demand!
-
Thanks! Yeah, busy spring so far. We’re still trying to get to some Utah spots we had scheduled so stay tuned for our last hurrah.
Abq has been cool so far. We checked out two parks in our new hood and unfortunately each one introduced us to a Karen that we couldn’t stand. Hoping for better neighbors on our street.
Excited about the breweries nearby and all the New Mexican food. Also pumped about the flat screen we bought today, the new washer/dryer, robot vacuum, and dining room set. ???
