Thanks one and all. When these were mentioned on a zoom call a while back I went back to the measurements and had a revelation regarding how these might work. The only problem was when the restock came and the starting waist of 34.4" dropped to an actual 33.8".
Now they are fitting how I envisioned (like Burt Reynolds in 1977 @spitfiredealer
), and I am very happy to add a very different cut to the wardrobe. -

@neph93, these look great, nothing like how we might imagine a boot cut "flares." Would you mind telling us how tall you are and the length you prefer? Word has it these look good on taller people, no?

I'm 6' (180cm) tall but have a short inseam. I left these half an inch longer than usual at 32". For some reason I feel they make me look longer in the leg than I actually am. The flare isn't really a flare. The thigh tapers quite heavily and then the jean just tapers back out steadily from the knee to the hem to a final hem that isn't wildly different to a 634. Obviously I have lost a little bit having taken 4" off, but it is still a proper boot/sneaker cut. They cover a lot of my Wesco Boss and have that 70's vibe when worn with my old school Adidas.

Even the size up is snug! I was not quite ready for the increase in hem size, but so did order the inseam 0.5” shorter than my used pair from [mention]sabergirl [/mention] - so after some wear and as the denim relaxes, I think it will straighten out a bit around my boots.

That being said, I’m back in the gym for the first time for two years and I’m kicking it off with the 5x5. There may be sausage thighs on the horizon….
