It's really hard to properly capture the black on these…that's why I put a picture comparing it to two others.  It's definitely the darkest of the bunch.

                Thanks!  They feel great.

Waist is a bit bigger than needed so I don't expect much stretch there.  But I'll note the changes over the next week or so.

I've got measurement updates for you @neph93 but they're not exciting because I didn't size down.

My waist normally goes from 32.25" to 33" depending on my stage in dieting and I didn't want to risk stretching the size 32's 31.3" waist all the way to 33".  So, I went with the size 33 and the 32.6" waist, which fit great straight out of the bag.  A bit torn on whether I should've sized down but they feel great and look good, so /shrug.

That said, here's the change after 9 days of wear:

                        • waist: no change
                        • thigh: +0.1cm
                        • inseam: -0.8cm

Sorry for the lack of stretch info, but hey, look at that inseam shrink! 😃

I'm torn because I always tell people that if they fit great out the gate, they'll be too baggy in the long run 😕  It doesn't help that I'm at my thinnest now, too.  And it especially doesn't help that I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to denim 😃

I’m also obsessive/compulsive but I’m trying to relax as a few things have convinced me that it really is a waste of energy. As for weight, I’m at the other apex of that swinging pendulum, so will most likely wait until February when I have that issue under control.

I bought a size 40 pair of these Mad Black jeans right away when they first came out.  I noticed that the waist measurement was only 38.2 inches, but I was not concerned, as I have a heavy duty waist expander that works quite well on my Iron Heart jeans.  I soaked the new jeans in cold water before using the expander.  I was able to stretch the waist more than 2.5 inches wider. These do seem to be softer than my other 25oz IH jeans.  I would not describe them as rigid, nor will they stand up on their own.  This dark color is currently my most favorite in my IH collection.

My IH collection includes 888-XHS-mb, 777-XHS-ib, 777-XHS, (25oz in Mad Black, indigo/black, and indigo), 888s-od, 777S-21-od, 777S-21,(21oz in overdyed black and indigo),  9526-PJ, 9526-J (21oz overdyed black jackets with and without side pockets)

The overdying is quite a rigorous process and takes a lot of the stiffness out of the material. The 21oz OD is also much softer and more pliable than the standard version.

I’d love a pair, but I have the 888S-OD and a pair of SBG’s already. There is a bit of FOMO going in though so you never know [emoji1]

While not the 888 cut I feel like this might be the best spot to show these off!

Mad black is definitely a good bit darker than regular OD. They feel heavier than regular 25oz, they also feel surprisingly smooth. Years ago I had picked up a pair of the 25oz 634OD and ended sending the back… I’ve regretted not keeping them, but couldn’t make them work…These definitely check that box.

Can’t wait to wear them heavy this winter… I’m Really glad I got them. It’s dark out now, but I’ll get a few pictures compare regular OD to Mad black.
