Apparently I'm in between sizes so this 25oz denim is basically telling me lose weight or gain some. Ha.  Maybe a third try will work once I see measurements of the 777 fit..

I was emailing back and forth trying to get the right size for my order. My 555od measures 38"and the most they've stretched to was 38.2". The 38" is just a tad loose.

I'm pretty sure on a normal day, my waist varies plus or minus 1".  Some times my jeans are a tad loose, sometimes perfect, sometimes a tad tight.  That is the nature of the beast…

If they had been able to find a pair measuring 38.7-38.9" I might've felt more comfortable shrinking them closer to 38".

Normally I wear size 32 but size up 33 to
Match my waist measurements.. as the 32 are smaller.

Yeah I asked them to check all the tag 36s as well, found a tag 36 with 37.2.  I'll next check the 777 in this denim once it releases but I have hunch they'll have the same numbers.

Please do not have that hunch, although it is impossible to tell as the 7's are not here yet, the possibility of the waists measuring differently to the 555-XHSBB is just as likely as them measuring the same.

If we take the 555-XHS for example, the average for a tag 38 is 39.3 and the average for a tag 38 of the 777-XHS is 38.8.

The hunch is more based on my past two orders of this pair and the 555 xhsib, there was two remaining pairs one was 39 and the other was a 39.2, then asked about the 777xhsib which also show an average of 39.

Even though I had to cancel my order, these are still tempting. I really do like how black they are and making me wonder how much a regular wash cycle with hot water and agitation could help lose an inch.

I feel like the half inch your worried about will be solved by wearing a belt. I have jeans that range over an inch in the waist. Some fit snug, some need a belt. They all look good.

Mine arrived today,and I have to say this is some seriously gnarly denim. Put them on a for a few minutes and then threw them into the tub for a hot soak. Looked like there was an octopus in my pants the way the black dye was,literally,pouring out of them. Rolled them in a towel,and now they’re getting a wash,and then it’s off to the Shrinkmaster 9000. I was considering waiting for the 634s as I didn’t need another,super slim,pair of black jeans,and these fit me like 634s in the thighs,so mission accomplished. Stay tuned.
