The Seventieth Anniversary model is basically a remake of the Fiftieth Anniversary model, down to the text on the dial. You can't see it in this photo, but there's a date window at 4:30.

I found an article about the Fiftieth Anniversary which has more photos. The only real difference with the new one is that it's got a solid back.

New member here, good to see a watch thread!!

Some of mine. Big fan of the 6538 Sub so was pleased to see Tudor release an homage. The Hamilton is also such incredible value and one of the ones I wear most often.

And yep, right wrist. If It's good enough for Steve McQueen…

            @goosehd - Thanks, much appreciated.

The Speedmaster doesn't get much wear due to my dainty wrists. Another reason to love Tudor for making new watches with 'old-school' dimensions.

Coveting that new Explorer style Black Bay Pro they released late last year.

I love that 39. Had I not bought the FXD this year I would’ve been on the hunt for one.

That pelagos looks great! I've been wearing my Omega PO 2500 but considering getting on the list for a plain Rolex Sub no date now that the market has cooled.

Yes, the no date Sub is hard to beat. People love to hate on Rolex, but their feature set is rarely beaten. The Sub is nothing special until you look at the dimensions and quality of the bezel. The Explorer II is similarly unmatched in this case height (GS is getting close). And, no, I don't own any…  😞

thankfully for my bank balance I’m watch-illiterate, but that Tudor (Pelagos 39?) is very nice indeed.

Thanks! It’s titanium so pretty light as well compared to steel.

Such great watches everyone. My newest obsession is finding a vintage Benrus Type I watch. These are getting more and more difficult to find. The Type II is nice as well but I just love the simplicity of the Type I.

So, it's beautiful but it might not be for me. Here's why:

                                  1. I'm 51, and I basically cannot see the pattern on the watch. It's so fine it's hard to see unless in full daylight.
                                  2. The manual wound spring drive does nothing for me.
                                  3. The deploying buckle on leather is a tad bulky - bulkier than a simple leather strap.

So I'm thinking of selling it. I have several watches I need to sell, and if I can make it work I'll combine several sales into one purchase of something nice and maybe with a tad flashier dial.

@JDelage Thank you for the honest and insightful feedback.  The texture on the dial looks pronounced from the pictures but it's good to know that in reality it's not.  It would save me from making a purchase I would ultimately be unhappy with.

I'm finding that I need my glasses more and more everyday and would be disappointed to know that the main feature I like about your watch is not something that I could enjoy without them.

I've had this Tissot PR 516 GL sitting in a draw unused for many years… The original racing strap (pictured) has broken, and I was never much of a fan of it anyway...

Can any of you wonderful people recommend a strap that would suit this watch? I'd like something a bit different, but am currently lacking inspiration...

Omega have just announced a new Speedmaster, to add to the hundreds of variants they already offer. But this one is different, it has a trick silicon mainspring, the Spirate system, which gives it an accuracy of between 0 and +2 seconds per day, which is very good. The tech is going to be slowly rolled out across their entire range, though it might take some time as it necessitates a new movement.

Grand Seiko, meanwhile, have found another excuse for a limited-edition watch, a recreation of the SBGW295, which was their first model. It's hand wound, in a titanium case, and looks rather good.
