The Tangente is such a timeless classic! I got mine as a present from my parents for passing my law exam almost 20 years ago.
I only stopped wearing it in favor of the Ahoi from Nomos.

Same with me. Got me Tangente roughly 6 years ago and stopped wearing it as soon as I got my Omega Seamaster. Though it is classy in looks, I was not so satisfied with its accuracy.

I’ve had mine for ~12 years and never had an issue. I’m not super OCD about timing though as long as it isnt an obvious issue.

Drift of about 5 to 10 minutes a week is something that I could not digest with my Tangente.

Agreed, but given that mechanical watches are already somewhat of an affectation since they're obsolete, I also understand placing a premium on accuracy. It's pretty cool when they can dial it in on a mechanical watch. I even appreciate Spring Drive and super accurate quartz–it doesn't have to be practical to matter.

I do miss wearing a mechanical watch, but not enough to ditch my smart watch.

This year is the seventieth anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms and the twentieth anniversary of its revival. Blancpain are celebrating milking it with a series of limited editions. This is the first, which is a 42 mm model, which is a new size, in steel.

It's going to be released as three series of seventy, with each being sold in a particular geographical area. It looks pretty close to the fiftieth anniversary model.

Here's hoping that they do something cooler as well, such as the Barakuda or Seventies.

Yeah, this is really a watch that would look better without a date at all (and without the "70th anniversary" text). Very pretty watch though.
