oh boy, I hot soaked (steaming hot) my SRs and the waist went from 31 to 28!  I didn't even let the top of the waist band touch the water.

Right when I took it out of the the water my face went 

it took me 30 minutes to get all but the top button (wet, doing tons of squats on each button).  another 30 minutes later I buttoned them and got them back to a 30.  I should be ok if I can get them to stretch a bit more tomorrow.  Anyone think I am ok? 

Oddly, the rest of the jean did not shrink that much, the waist band just tapered in big time.

to avoid topblock shirinkage, get a good piece of wood say 5" wide. Cut it to proper lenght, 31" in your case, and use that when drying jawns. Place the wood in buttoned waist. That'll take care of the extra shrinkage.
