St. Patrick's Day is upon us. Proper end of the rainbow vessel:
Be safe.
Great image - gotta send to mates in Ireland. Belated Happy St Patrick's Day to all - any major Guinness-related hangovers out there?

No hangover, I only had three. We planned for our Ireland/Northern Ireland roadtrip which we're going to do over easter with a bunch of friends - 13 of us are going. It's going to be epic! We're planning to do Dublin-Belfast-Coleraine-Derry-Sligo-Dublin pretty much along the coast.
Can't wait to have several pints of Guinness in Dublin, the only place it tastes like it's supposed to!

I had whisky yesterday. But then again, I have whisky everday. Does that count?

amazing
QUOTE=corter;2639257]Here's where I'm at today- $14,000 raised for Japan in about 3 1/2 days, almost 1000 bracelets ordered (about $15 per bracelet will end up going to the Red Cross in Japan). My two roomates- Sarah, stamping return addresses, and Tara, online addressing packages- are pitching in as much as they can so I can make all of the bracelets.
and my job tonight- packing 500 envelopes (each box has 100 addressed envelopes. Miss Corter and I did 300 last night, Tara's done 150 and finishing the last 50 right now).

It feels strange to post such an unimportant thing now, but I'll be able to pick my SH27 up after work today, if I'm lucky. Looking forward to that.

Thanks, I hope it fits me. Maybe I'll bring up some pics today.

so I learned a little more about retail today:
Friday 'technically' not being a working day here in Dubai - I had a few hours free after work, so thought I'd bum them in Dubai Mall . . . which if you like malls is pretty amazing (and if you don't like malls is . . . . pretty amazing)
Anyways, wandered into the Zegna store - I like Zegna for work gear - nice fabrics, cut et al and ended up talking to one of the assistants who told me they are getting more into the bespoke stuff and I could get a suit for around AED12,000 (about 2000 quid) - I listened politely, thanked him and wandered out.
Across the way (no more that 50 paces) I went into the Tom Ford store (for no particular reason) where another keen shop assistant proceeded to to tell me all about the products AND that they were now doing bespoke suiting.
I asked how much and he said approximately AED 20,000 depending on cut etc. I said that's quite expensive and he reassured me saying they only use the best of fabrics by Ermenegildo Zegna . . .
How the f-ck does that work?

Zegna is a manufacturer of fabrics which it uses in its garments. It produces fabric for other brands too. Tom Ford is a designer and it sources fabrics from other manufacturers, including Zegna. Tom Ford suits are quite something, but they are pricey, more so than many of the Zegnas.
Loro Piana is another firm which manufacture fabrics as well as making garments with its label on it. There are only a handful of high-end fabric manufacturers in the world, they supply their fabrics to many different brands/labels.

yup, well aware - and i think i just said something like that OmegaMan
what I was trying to get my head around was nearly double the price for the same fabric ranges, made by the (same?) local tailors
i do know that alterations (having bought items from both stores previously) are done by the same tailors

you are paying for the name TOM FORD and his "ideas" his fit is not for everyone. very V shaped.
all his top end suits are made from Zegna by Zegna tailors in Zegna factories using Zenga fabrics and trims…....... ouh wait there is one difference zenga bespoke has hand sewn button holes tom is machined@Geo:
