        now this is getting worse and worse from day to day!…

        feels horrible to sit in a warm&save home 1000 of miles away and just can't do nothing at all! makes own "big" problems feels like none at all compared to the ones from the people in Japan!...

        came across this on SuFu and thought it would be a great thing to do to show a little bit of support and love to all the ones affected!

        @CORTER:

        **This weekend, like many other people, I watched as Japan survived one of the worst recorded earthquakes of all time- only to be torn apart by the tsunamis that followed.

        Japan is special to a lot of us for one reason or another. Their quirky culture, technological innovation, and uncanny ability to perfect anything they get their hands on have always been inspiring to many people. For me, it was their leather workers- Japan took western, Americana-styled leather work, with its frills and studs and carved roses, and stripped it down to a sleek, relatable, modern design while keeping it's roots firmly in tact. Japan is the reason I do what I do today. I started Corter after lusting for a Redmoon wallet in college, studying the KC's website for hours to try and reverse engineer their designs. I scoured Japanese forums, crudely translated through Google, teaching myself how to sew and cut through these folks in Japan.

        I wanted to help, wanted to give back more than a reblog or retweet. So for the next week or two, I'll be offering a special "For Japan" edition bracelet. Each one is $20, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross towards relief efforts in Japan. The bracelet is a natural 9oz bracelet, with a hand painted red button to show support. Each comes in a nice cloth bag. Out of respect, there is no branding, no fancy packaging- just a reminder to help and remember.**

          I am desperately hoping, that everything will come to a "good end" under these circumstances. I've been following the newstickers all morning and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I just hope the best for all japanese people. Still there is a hug information lack, e.g. what would be the worst case scenario? Every news sounds more hopeless.

                          Great news Haraki…

                          btw. here's an update on Corter's "Help for Japan Bracelets" projekt...

                          @corter:

                          Here's where I'm at today- $14,000 raised for Japan in about 3 1/2 days, almost 1000 bracelets ordered (about $15 per bracelet will end up going to the Red Cross in Japan). My two roomates- Sarah, stamping return addresses, and Tara, online addressing packages- are pitching in as much as they can so I can make all of the bracelets.

                          and my job tonight- packing 500 envelopes (each box has 100 addressed envelopes. Miss Corter and I did 300 last night, Tara's done 150 and finishing the last 50 right now).

                          here they are all packed up- thought it was going to take me longer, luckily it was only a few hours. Worked out to about 100 per hour I was able to do.

                          the conUS….pile? couch?

                                Workers are close to restoring power to cooling systems at a quake-hit Japanese nuclear power plant, officials say.

                                Engineers connected a cable through which they hope to supply electricity to part of the Fukushima Daiichi plant.

                                Let's hope this works…

                                  some updates from CORTER again…

                                  @corter:

                                  Finn helping out with postage! Went to the post office today- luckily each package can get sent with just stamps, so we stamped up all the packages and took some to be sent. The rest go out tomorrow.

                                  Here's a few pictures from this weekend, made another 500 bracelets!

                                  my gf doing customs forms

                                  Finn playing in one of the bins

                                  We did it- hit $20,000 raised for Japan today! I'm super sick, but on enough meds and orange juice to keep working full speed. Todays orders going to the post office:

                                  and another friend of mine, Lindsey, using her English degree to address packages faster than anyone else yet. We've started a little competition to keep things interesting, she's in the lead with 62 packages/hr, I'm right behind her with 59.

                                  you can purchase these bracelets for as long as orders are comming in!
                                  We hit $25,000 last night, first donation happening today. Here's some from last night. I've been trying to take as many photos as possible, this is something I want to remember for sure!

                                  Tara around 1am addressing, Finn keeping company

                                  Yours truly getting buttons in to press. What looks like a loving kiss was actually "why the hell are you taking pictures of yourself working? I'm hungry, no one wants to see your face."

                                  Gilby relaxing through it all this morning on the radiator cover and freshly hung laundry

                                  my friend Tony Luong came over and shot a video last week to document the project I'm doing, and he just shared it!

                                  I think it's really nice, shows my workspace too!
