Actually it's sort of eating at me a little bit — I hate to do it because I'd like to have these to wear immediately, but I'm gonna send em back for a 12E. I really hope they still have a pair in stock.

They look glorious. The heel slip will abait for sure…

@popvulture - hey bud, for what it's worth, it may be worthwhile to simply order the 12E before you return your 13s so you can try them on side by side.

The thing with Wesco is the stitching on the sides, being so hard core, can drastically affect the comfort of the boot is it's even franctionally too small.

To put it this way, my 10E Mr. Lous are a glrious fit, but not snug at all. They are comfortable as all get out, but I could have gone 10D probably. I also have my custom Morrisons on a 10D - and they have a lot of slip due to the less flex of the crepe sole.

Now, I have the 7500 Engineer in a 9.5E. In theory, they should fit similarly to a 10D, but in fact, the stitching on the Vamp hits the side of my foot in a completely different place, and even after 3 years of wear, they are quite uncomfortable for the first 30-45 minutes everytime I wear them.

going a full size down might manage them unwearable, and the slim shaft and heelcup of the Mr. Lous could mean difficulty getting them on with the instep. I know having 2K in credit card charges at one time isn't what most want, but if you can return one, I would venture you would want to be 100% sure you return the right one.

          Cheers,

          Adam

That's a good call — I might do that. The thing that was really getting me about the 13E is how huge they look. I compared them to all of my other shoes/boots and they just looked like fucking skis. I was kinda like "hey they're chunky boots, I'll deal with it," and then I decided to actually feel where my toe was. It didn't feel like there was a ton of room at the end of the boot, but by feeling my toe it let me know there was a good bit more room. Now, will the 12E be too drastic? Dunno… we'll see.

I guess it all comes down to comfort on a couple levels. 1 - do they physically fit, and 2 - do I feel good in them. I think the 12Es could maybe feel a tad snug but if I didn't feel like Bozo, it'd be a compromise I'd be willing to make. But yep, TBD.

              that's fair.

To be fair, you could also remove the insole in the 12E and get about 1/6-1/4 size more space.. I have tiny feet, so I just don't know… does a 12.5 not exist?

Unfortunately, for those of us who regularly have the problem of 12 being too small and 13 being too big, 12.5 is a rare size to find… almost never.

@neph93 that's interesting, and good to know — I wanna kiss companies that make 12.5. Rare as hen's teeth. These were stock boots, but I like knowing that in case I ever order custom from Wesco.

But yeah I feel like I have so many things to feel fortunate for, but I will whine for a brief sec and say that having big feet is a real pain in the ass. It sucks that there's no half size between 12 and 13 usually. Also, wearing a 13 has ruled out lots of cool companies (Shoes Like Pottery, for ex) that only make up to 12. Beyond that, lots of retailers just don't order 13s. Lastly, the whole upper tier boot phenomenon of everything being one size bigger than your Brannock size means that often a 12 is just a teeeeny bit too small for me, and a 13's too big (as might be the case here).

It's really not the end of the world, though — could be way worse. Fingers crossed the 12Es end up fitting!

@popvulture @Alex_24 Check this link. The boot builder details all options available. Standard sizing lasts (including half sizes), go up to 13, but a custom fitting will let them build bigger I believe. @Alex_24 you would be better off going through IHUK than ordering direct from Wesco.

If you have big feet just do a custom build. My Wesco size is something like 14.5B but I don't even think about it now that Chris measured my feet a couple years ago. I just order what I want and never worry about using a plastic bag or showering in my boots or whatever else people do to make their stock boots fit. It's worth the wait.

I'm more a fan of the service and chelsea boot styles, but those look super clean in black horsebutt with the natural sides. Curious on your thoughts on them after a bit of wear, especially regarding how they compare with Vibergs.

I'm a Viberg SB and Chelsea fan as well. Once I get my bookshelves set up in my new place to display the Vibergs I'll post a collection photo in that thread.  Only my 3rd full day of wearing these, but I can tell they are every bit as solid.  I'll come back with some updates.  Especially after some of the black wears away to show the brown underneath.

Thanks!  These are 666S-16.  Have been great for the TX summer once the heavier weights became too much.  Was wearing some 142, but I'm really digging these and they seem to breathe a bit better.
