Curious, are you able to drink more than one of these?  Do you want to?  I have never tried it, and know nothing about them…

It has been a rising trend in the US for well over a year, and Norway’s own brewers and importers tend to be a little behind the curve, so we’ve only just started seeing Norwegian brewed versions and the best of the American examples. It occurs to me now that my first meeting with this style was one of the beers @scooter gifted me at the 10th anni party.

Given the above and the fact that this is not my preferred beer profile I only bought one. I’m following it up with a big ass impy stout, so I guess I could drink two, but I’m going to admit to feeling pretty bloated [emoji1]

This was a fun idea that is at least 50% well executed and may turn out to be genius…

A brewer/coffee maker collab, divided into two parts and called “Big Night In”. I had part one last night and had to put off part two until this evening.

Part 1 was an imperial pale at 9.8% abv. Damn tasty... part two is an impy coffee porter. Looking forward to it.

Might try this at a later date. The price made my head spin.  £8 for a 330ml can.

I thought I had learned a lesson from a few years ago when I lived and worked in Norway, never to translate prices.  Doing so sucked any fun out of an evening out. No wonder house parties prior to going out on the weekend are popular / obligatory.  Get hammered with your pals to cut down on your spending at the pubs in town.

I had a secret weapon when I went out though, a company credit account for entertaining.  Long gone are those days I am afraid.

The Amundsen dessert stouts are HUGE beers. Very sweet indeed. To be fair the 100kr. they cost is not a lot compared to what similar IS brews go for. A 330ml bottle of Prairie will set you back £20.

If you want something a bit more special that Mack, that won’t break the bank then the Nøgne brews are all very solid at the least.

Interesting how the pandemic has turned the drinking culture on its head. For a long while bars could only stay open to 10pm, so people went out early and spent on food and drink and then the party started at home afterwards.

Prairie Artisan Ales out of Oklahoma? Holy hell, that's nuts. I'd hesitate to buy a six pack for half that. Obviously, the economics of getting their beer on the shelves in Norway are very different, though.
