@adam313:
The after wash cleanliness is INCONCEIVABLE @spitfiredealer
“That cement didn’t stain?!? Inconceivable!”
I am a little surprised myself there isn’t staining. Guess most of it ends up on my legs though. My UHR have got a few stains in places from the cement.

Putting work in on my 634SR - they are still pretty marbled, but all the time spent on flooring and decking have definitely started to fade the thighs and knees.. hoping to beat all the indigo out so that the marbling isn’t noticeable

I think the marbling looks pretty sweet.

@Oaktavia you had expressed an interest in the shift on my XHS so I made a short video. I gave them a hot wash so the creases are in an all new spot now. I am gonna go with it though because it seams like all the intersections will be awesome. Also it is cool that since the hot wash (and starch and steam iron) they are softer than they have ever been. The hand is crazy soft. They feel stiff and now somehow thicker too.
I'm probably going to buy another pair and remove the leather tag and hot wash them several times before I even wear them this time. I am trying to decide which of my holy grails I'm gonna sell to finance this new pair.

Machine wash on heavy duty, hottest water possible. With a bunch of my dirty coveralls from work and 2 Hygenic clean Tide pods.

@Filthy:
I was experimenting with different kinds of light sources to try and capture the right color of these. This is a mix of an old incandescent bulb and an LED bulb at the same time.
No filter on these. I did use the Pro cam with these settings (so you can try it yourself on your pair).

Old vs older

I'm abusing a pair in a hot wash and the shrinkmaster. This is possibly my favorite patch so I removed it and will reattach it when the jeans are dry.
-
Super smart move, @Filthy. What sorta thread are you using to re-attach it? How do you ensure that placement is in sorta the same place? Worrying about screwing up my patch on my XHS (it looks so good rn!!!) has kept me from washing them
-
Wow those look awesome! @henry_david
That's a great question. And thankfully there is an indentation on the back of the patch, so it should be easy to line up. And the patch is like 1 cm to the left of the belt loop next to it. Also I didn't remove and of the threads I cut from the jeans… so there should be some kind of marks there to use as a guide.
And, finally I'll be using this heavy gauge Gutterman ca02776 golden jeans thread to reattach it.

Okay, that works too! Thanks Giles! I love you, man!

We can ship out a decent length of off-white poly-cotton yarn (which is what we use to fix patches on ourselves) with orders if you request…..
Wow that's some next level shit, @Giles.
And thanks, @Filthy! Yeah, the electric blue is just beautiful in the light (even better in-person without the bad photography skills).

Your white Birkenstocks are great too. I'd never be able to pull that off though. I wear Rainbow flip flops all the time and get teased relentlessly.

Ha! Thanks man. I ended up buying these because I've wanted Bostons for a while and kept being unable to buy them as my size wasn't readily available (I wear a 15 US). When I saw these, I decided to throw caution to the wind and buy them. And let me tell you: they are WHITE. It's … a lot. Thankfully I don't look too stupid.
On the topic of Rainbows, I love tf outta them. I grew up in Orange County here in California and have been wearing them for years. My wife NEVER stops making fun of me for wearing them, but, then again, they're the best flip flop and so comfy. I also have UGGs so maybe I just like ugly shoes that people think suck...

I was working at the nuclear power plant there one time, and I got introduced to the band Fu Manchu, Rainbows, and Pizza Port all in the same trip.
People there were so cool to me, I didn't want to ever leave. I was drinking a growler of beer on these people's private beach (it was my 30th b-day) and these two dudes came down with their girlfriends and sat with me on the beach and invited me into their mansion. This was before certain things were legal in CA ( and I was working at the plant subject to certain tests randomly) so I politely declined.
Anyway, I've been a Rainbow sandals fan ever since.

Lol I can just imagine that… People are generally pretty nice down there. Was that in Huntington?
