Saddened to hear of this huge loss to the music world. First heard this giant in 1989 when I bought 3rd Bass' The Cactus Album. His contribution to music is immeasurable.

Dave Hill used to live down the road from me when I was in my early teens.  He had a Jenson CV8 with the number plate YOB 1 parked outside…

Ironically their biggest hit in the states was Quiet Riots version of Come On Feel The Noise.

Always amuses me that they started as a trad skinhead band, and their 70s image grew out of an exaggeration of she trad skin style… Dave Hill's feather cut, the clothes. Had completely morphed by the mid 70s.

I agree that they remain so underated just because they are known for their novelty Xmas hits.

Stunning. Reminds me of parts of Cobains MTV Unplugged performance for its strength and expressions of apparently genuine emotional anguish.

ExHxG is coming out with a new album soon. I've been listening to them a lot recently. Their drummer died and Jimmy Bower has left since this album here. But I am eager to hear there new stuff. They posted a teaser track and Mike Williams is almost not screaming this time around. It's a more laid back sound. I'll get the new song and post it for you if I can find it in the next post.

I have had the intro to this song in my head for at least 3 days now. I was dancing with my cat and stroking her side like a ukelele to this song when I last heard it. I do this a lot and she loves the attention and purs a lot.

If you like metal and punk listen to this. This is one of the most innovative punk recordings I have ever heard.

@Filthy hey Mike, thank you for making those posts. I love EHG. They are true survivors, and I'm sure you know that Mike's story too. The Gulch is very good too, the artwork on that 7" is pretty special. Damn shame they only have vinyl and download releases, I'd love that on cd. Both bands have similar lyrical themes and I can see why we'd been drawn to them.
