Anyone ever had sterling silver develop a yellow/gold ish color?
Wondering if it’s because of the contact between the GAH buffalo nickel (925) and the FA feather (950)?

Also, what’s the easiest way to clean it?

I’ve seen that before. No idea why it happens, some form of oxidisation. These are a cheap and effective way of cleaning silver:

While I couldn’t agree more and I’m all about wabi sabi…

I was just a bit worried as I didn’t see this on any of my other silver items before. I am used to silver turning black but this had me a bit confused...

Jules has a pair of Viberg engineers shown on LHS with chrome hardware that she would love to replace with brass hardware as shown on my IHTB-BOBRN on RHS. Does anyone know where hardware can be replaced on engineer boots? @Giles could IHUK replace hardware on Jules' boots?

I can see why a cobbler need to replace the hardware as it looks like a tricky job however, at this point, I can't find any brass hardware to replace the chrome with so Jules' boots will be staying as is  🙂

That'd great @Giles as we do have a friend who's an accomplished cobbler who'd be able to remove & replace buckles 👍

I have a pair of White's boots that are mismatched (left foot F width, right foot FF width). Even though they are probably the widest width you can get, my right pinky toe seems to always rub/touch the side of the boots in the front section. I've had different boots/shoes as well that do the same thing…

Any idea why this happens and how to fix it?

Surgery to remove the toe? @Giles knows a guy. I jest… I have no idea. Are you sure the boots are long enough? Boots taper towards the toe so a bigger size may give you the room you need for your toe at a wider section of the boot.

Yeah, I should have the right size actually. I've been recommended it by Baker's in the USA after sending in the hard copies of my foot tracings.
