+1 I noticed the same thing, and thought ‘how did @Chap get that length so perfect?”. Please share your wisdom here.
I never managed to, not even being in IHUK in person to get mine hemmed.  Good thing is it gives me another BIG reason to go back, this time with a load of jeans for re-hemming!

          Excellent look Chap 👏🏻👏🏻

          The journey is the objective.

Thanks @going_to_battle @motojobobo no wisdom, sorry, just luck. To be honest I would love to have them half an inch or an inch longer to get some stacks… more shrinkage after a wash then I expected.

I was wearing my jeans unhemmed with cuffs until I realised how the denim usually breaks at the cuffs. I now wear them hemmed without cuffs and like to see some stacks too... so still trying to find the perfect length... which again might vary from cut to cut

Gonna need some guidance, not sure if I ordered a size too small, or if these are really that hard to even get to close on my waist. I tried to match the waist of my 21oz pairs, and I even measured 3 pairs of jeans that fit me comfortably, so maybe this cut just isn't for me? Oh well, came here looking for some guidance into this depth of weight. heh. In the picture, this is as far as I can get them to go, I can't even maneuver the bottom botton to try and slowly inch them shut.

Can you get the top button done? My first pair of XHS were like that, you can see them now a few posts up. They are five years old. I panicked and figured I’d sized wrong but it was just the weight and stiffness if the denim.

When I get home I will have to give it an honest attempt, when I get them on this evening, they aren't gonna be coming off til tomorrow morning though haha.

Maybe will try this, but don't want to destroy the jeans if they truly are the wrong size, in which case I would not feel right about exchanging.

Sorry for the double post. Will need some advice. Short of pliers, these are definitely not going on me.  I don't think the issue is 100% the waist, as the thighs are also a little narrow. I think the next size up would look great, and honestly fit the way I would have wanted these ones to fit. Or maybe this cut just isnt for me, but I think next size up would be fantastic.

Those are too small. IMO, if you can’t button them with only a minor struggle, and the thighs feel tight, no amount of wear is ever going to make them comfortable. You might be able to squeeze into them with a ton of effort, but they will never be a joy to wear. Unless you’re a masochist.

@sethatwork looking at that last pic I think @sabergirl is correct in her analysis. The hip area/top block is too small for your body shape. Next size up should be good.

My replacement size came, damn near friction burned my finger prints off trying to button them, but I was able to get them on. These are a little tight in the waist and hips, but I know they’ll break in just perfectly and feel like a nice rug.

Sounds good to me. I think if you aren't getting that from 666-XHS the first try on then you are doing it wrong. They look great.

Got my first full day of wear on them, however picture is from this morning. They are rough, getting easier to put on, however they feel tight on the hips still & have some light bruising, but they definitely feel better than they did yesterday. Started building the balusters with these on today, so they didn't really get a full range of work from me.

Advice needed please. I've got a pair of size 36 which I bought a while back but only now starting to wear daily. I think I must have a lost a few pounds recently as they are now quite loose around the waist - I'm not too concerned as I tend to wear my jeans on the loose side anyway but I'd appreciate your thoughts/advice on whether I should either leave them as they are or try and shrink them a little (if that's possible?) now whilst they're new. I've not soaked them or anything since buying them.

@hilly this denim is sanforised but unwashed, meaning there is still some shrinkage available, even at normal temperatures. The only reason I can see for not getting rid of shrinkage that will regardless occur with a normal wash/soak is if one has a peculiar aversion to getting jeans wet or if they are on the small side and one wants to mitigate the effects of washing by stretching them first.

So my advice would certainly be to give them a soak in fairly hot water and agitate them while they soak to get the water moving around and into the fibres. They will shrink by around an inch in length and probably a little less in the waist. The width of the leg will tighten slightly and the rise shorten a little. Those areas put under pressure will stretch back out again with wear.
