that's a great truck @twin. I'm seeing more and more if them here in Minnesota and they are a great updated version of the classic ranger. My wife has an F-150 and we were considering a Raptor, but it wouldn't be practical for pulling the horse trailer.

In Europe, they make a Ranger Raptor, which would be a really fun truck to drive.

      Enjoy your new wheels!

I drive past a Ranger Raptor on my way to work, looks like a lot of fun. Sadly we dont get the real Raptor for  the Dealer and a Import Car is hella expensive.

Bronco Raptor is what I’m waiting for 🙂

But let’s be fair, I’d never buy it…I am a glutton for punishment and will most likely go back to my old ways with used German and rusted Japanese cars my my American Made warranties expire and the 100 Anniversary Land Cruisers start popping up as CPOs.

i have a very strong feeling this will be a future classic. almost on a same level as a Celica GT4. carbon roof, double wishbone rear and a front and rear LSD. it's definitely peaked my interest.. 156kw (210bhp)/tonne..

The weight saving is great. Mad they went AWD, that has to add a lot to the cost, I wonder if they struggled to get the traction / handling right with FWD.

At least someone is doing something to rival RenaultSport.

their AWD system is nothing new. they basically took the celica GT4's renowned AWD system and put it into this car. where the money has gone into is the building of the chassis and the body construction with it's carbon roof, aluminium body etc..if you've played SEGA Rally at the arcades, then you'll know of this legend.. the car was built for homologation as well so there are variants that they sold to the general public

GRMN is actually a cosmetic code. something similar to M sport, S-line or AMG body kits etc. The true AMG, RS and M equivalent of toyota is GR itself. the GR yaris will be the base model and the Rallye edition will be the no strings attached model.

The rallye model will come with F&R torsen LSD, upgraded brakes, retuned suspension and forged rims, at least in australia anyway. i'm not certain what other regions will call it or what they will offer in terms of this car and it's trim levels.

I'm interested in the Rallye model, but I'm studying and working part time, so not sure if I can afford one right now.

not going to lie, i was a little tempted. they had a $10k discount for the first 1000 buyers. but that was only for the base model (still no slouch) as the rallye model is not due to 2021/22

That $10K discount didn’t last very long, did it? 😃

I’m looking forward to seeing what the Rallye model is like when it arrives. (I heard early next year, but with Covid it could slip.)

We’re currently running a cheap, old Ford Fiesta, which we purchased to give Nuru something to learn in, and me something to get back into driving. If we scratch or dent it, it’s less of an issue than with a new car. But it’s comfortable enough to run up and down to Melbourne (over 200 km), so I think that the Yaris GR would be equally as effective.

The only problem with a GR is that Nuru will be on her P plates for a couple of years, so wouldn’t be able to drive it. We’d have to own two cars in that case, and I’m not sure we have a need. Besides, I think that she’d prefer a 4x4 or ute…

it actually lasted longer than i did. i was expecting the slots to sell out like the supra but i guess people were a little skeptic about a yaris and didn't fully understand the mechanics and legacy behind it. think it was only half gone within the first day and it slowly met it's quota within a week. unlike the supra which was gone in hours..

you should tell her to get her licence in WA. we don't have any restrictions on P plates unlike the other nanny states.. a second hand SS ute is also a lovely choice. i do have a soft spot for a commodore anydays..
