I left the house early this morning with the two
smalls to get them into kindergarten. Hot Ingrid was still asleep. I’ve just written her a text asking if I can go to Madagascar with Giles…. I’m excited to read the response.

I just did a fork-length to weight calculation on my big Blue. I estimated the length of the shark from snout to fork at 84" (my sunnies are 6" across, so I have a known measurement) and it comes in at 138lbs…...

Small one from today (on my favourite jerkbait). I really need to take more pictures, the fishing is great and I'm out most days. Fall in Malmö is magical. Love perch fishing!

Popped out at 5AM this morning to catch the tide with a French pal.  It's very late in the season for lure fishing for Bass, so we went, more with hope than expectation.

Guilhem had a nice one, we were made up…..

Great catches @Giles. Fall fishing can be hit or miss here in MN but the fall colors make even a tough day worth it.

Finally put a decent yellowfin on deck last night - 98.7 lbs. I had already cut the loins on the other side before I remembered that I hadn't taken a picture.

The guys out here have caught 3 tunas >100 lbs within the last week, this was the largest at 144 lbs:

Tactics?

Just using large topwater poppers attempting to mimic the flying fish.  Where we fish from is ~40' above the water line so we've got a pretty good vantage point and we can spot when the tunas are chasing flying fish and we'll try to place the popper in it's path.  I was using a 200mm Yo Zuri Bull Pop and the tuna just inhaled it, you can barely see the head of the popper in it's mouth in the pic.  Also, if I'm not mistaken, the tunas are heading towards warmer water to spawn so there's been plenty around the ship over the last month or so.

That's a big fish to catch on stand up popping gear (I'm assuming you don't have a fighting chair welded to the platform  ). Congrats….
