Lovely fish and a nice morning by the looks…  what are bass like to fight with? And will you be making supper with that guy?

They fight pretty hard, but the hits to the lure are amazing….This guy went back.

My mate has a really nice one about an hour earlier....

I only got 3 casts in before a monsoon drove us off the lake, but i got this big girl right away 20" long and weighed about 4.5 lb.

@neph93 Freshwater Largemouth bass come to surface when hooked and jump out of the water with their mouth open throwing their head to try and toss the lure.  This one jumped 3 times on the way to the boat and then ran my drag straight down under the boat before tiring.

@Giles is right about the amazing hits on topwater lures. it takes the "drug" of getting a fish on and incresaes it exponentially when they smash the topwater lures.

thanks @Matty123 and @steelworker i'm going hunting for Walleye this Saturday morning in southern MN, i'll report back if we get anything good. Matty would you consider a GoPro type thing for your chest or head to record some of the catches? I'm considering getting one, if i can keep from looking like i'm full of myself

I don't fish but I was on a rafting trip last week where we had a dedicated fly fishing boat. People could fish while going through the rapids. It was on the Middle Fork of the Salmon river, in Idaho, an absolutely magical place.

@giles what is that pink line you are using? Is it saltwater specific? Braid, Mono, Flourocarbon? reason for the coloration?
