Well done, sir. It is a close run thing, but the XHS is my favourite of all the IH denims I have ever tried. Truly an investment in quality, and like all good investments the dividends become greater and greater with time. Personally I’m looking forward with pleasure to IH-888-XHS, sometime in the future.

You'll never regret that decision, congrats. For all my H.Duty denim buttons, 25oz included, once fastened and whilst not wearing, give the fabric a firm pull in all directions obviously around the buttons. This relaxes the button holes in a matter of seconds, and will save your pinkies the rigorous work out this denim is famed for.

Good tip @GC - anything I can give a firm pull to ease the ball chafe?

Too obvious @GC… although I will say that a firm pull is the answer to many of the world’s problems, in my experience.

Very nice indeed. I’m eternally jealous of people who get a silhouette like that from the 634… well done.

                      Btw, have you soaked?

Cheers @neph93  Haven't soaked yet, going with the wear them a little bit to get some of the stretch out then soak approach  🙂

@LewisStonehouse That is a solid fit my man. Like others have said I wish the 634 fit me like that.

I would soak those sooner rather than later though, my XHS shrank an inch when I initially soaked them.

Thanks @Palmer. I was going to get them in the bath in the next few days for a soak in cold water, maybe for half an hour. Hoping the shrinkage will be fairly minimal, but even if I get an inch of shrink I'm sure they'll stretch back out  🙂

I doubt you'll see much change at all with a cold soak. Wear them hard!

@LewisStonehouse I would recommend a hot soak to get the shrinkage out… after a little discomfort they will stretch back to where they are now, possibly even a little bigger. That way you know where you are from the start and avoid potential fade shift down the line.

That being said, I didn't soak my first pair of XHS and they came out nice in the end: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1819.msg640752#msg640752

You don’t have to do anything you don’t want too, they are yours. My thinking is that unless you’re one of those “interesting” types who really never ever wash their jeans, yours will get a wash at some point. Then you’re back to square one, because the potential for shrinkage won’t have gone away. So why not just get it over with?

If you want to play it safe, then soak them on the same temp as you will wash them eventually, normally 40C. But 60C will certainly get the job done.

Exactly! Use a bath tub. Flip them and straighten out any creases. Soak for at least an hour but not more than two. Half way through agitate them in the water then straighten/de-crease them again for the remainder. Air dry, and Robert’s your father’s brother.
