@Denimminer Will get a pic today! I measured the jeans (per IH's video) and all measurements were within .125" of what's listed on the site, with the exception of the rear rise. I measured 13.5" to their 13.8". Tough one to measure.

Since I have a skinny ass, I'm always interested in hip size. So with the jeans flat, I measured across directly under the pocket rivets and got 18.125". Doing the same 3" up from the crotch seam I got 19.5".

I measured before trying them on. I'm not a pro at measuring clothing. Take this info with a grain of salt.  🙂

Fit pics after about eight hours of around-the-house wear. Still quite stiff (especially in the top block), but definitely getting easier to wear.

Please forgive the rough cuffs. Haven't taken the time to do it right yet. And the house shoes. I'm not allowed to wear my boots in the house.

          Thanks for posting those.
I need to make it a point to take the hip measurements , I usually only pay attention to the thigh width and that might be why I can never get the perfect fit.

Well, here it is. Two years, worn almost daily, compared to brand spankin new. No soaks, no washes. That will change very soon.

The new ones are just backups in case of a catastrophic failure in the crotch region, which, by the way, does not show any sign of giving anytime soon.

I’m planning to give the worn pair a soak/light wash using Atska sport wash (super mild detergent with no scent whatsoever, HIGHLY recommend for the folks that don’t know about it) and then they will continue to be my dailies until they (or I) die.

No problem. I will say that these are the absolute most stubborn pair of raw denim I’ve ever owned. It took nearly 9 months to start seeing any kind of contrast. With that said, they’re also super breathable and once I got past the initial break-in period (about 3 months), they became a super comfortable daily wear.

Also, a bunch of people told my they were going to stretch a lot, they did not stretch a lot. They stretched MAYBE 1/2in IF that. I did wear a leather belt and a daily appendix carry firearm holster, they still did not stretch.

                    Sizing advice needed.

I am currently breaking in a pair of 666S-BK 21 in a tag size 33 with an actual waist of 33.1. Have worn them daily around the house etc for the last 10 days or so. They have stretched out to 34 (my actual waist is 34) and sit nicely with me able to get a thumb in at each hip (could wear them without a belt and wouldnt want them any tighter).

Was looking at picking up a pair of 777's and am struggling with sizing. Was thinking of going a 33 which has an actual waist of 33.6 but am afraid they will keep stretching and become too big.

                    Thoughts?

A pair starting at 33.6” will stretch past your 666’s. In fact, in the 21oz  they would probably end up around 35”.

Either size down or see if the crew in Gosport can find some tagged 33’s with a smaller waist.

Another option would be looking at other 777 iterations. Different denim’s have different starting measurements and shrink/stretch tendencies.

Thanks for the quick reply man. Yeeeah in my heart of hearts I think the same. Wish they had something a little smaller, say 33.2 or something as a size down could be getting a little tight right?

Have been in touch with them and all they have is the 33 with an actual of 33.6.

I don’t know what your tolerances are, but you can expect the indigo 21oz to stretch over an inch in the waist and at least .3” in the thigh. Maybe .5”. It will be slightly stretchier than your 666.

My recent experience with the 777S-21:

As measured by me, new before wear (size 31)
Waist 31.6" Thigh 11.45" Hip 3" up from crotch 19.5"

After 20 wears, 12-14 hours per day
                            Waist 32.75" Thigh 11.8" Hip 20.1"

Just remeasured the waist. Yesterday was 40 wears. 32.8". So it appears the stretch has settled down to about 1.2". These fit me quite tight at the waist, which I like. Thumbs barely in the waistband. Also, I don't wear a belt.

^ Excellent documentation. @jordanf if you can manage the knee and thigh then see if the crew can find a slightly bigger tag 32.

Although 21oz definitely stretches just as much as all these fine gents have noted, I think it bears mentioning that the 777 is a cut that sits on an entirely different place on your body. The lower rise sits down on your hips further, so more room may be needed, IMO.

I tried on a 777 once at a retailer, though, so I don’t have extensive experience with the cut.

I think it’s close to an inch on the back rise, which to me is significant. Although I can’t really wear either of these cuts because of the thigh measurements, so I’m putting my nose in where it probably doesn’t belong. [emoji23]
