IHSH-168-WH - 7oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt "The Anti Cash" - White

@Graham I almost missed out as well if you recall. I almost ordered it last month during the sale but I didn’t think the measurements were going to work so I ordered the 62 instead, but once this last one hit the outlet I decided to roll the dice and hope for the best. Glad I did.

Terrible news… I had forgotten there was a red paper ticket from a door prize giveaway (like a carnival ticket) in the right chest pocket and just washed the shirt... a nice red outline fully staining the inside of the pocket and clearly visible from the outside as well. Just sprayed some Oxi-clean on it but confidence is not good that this will ever come out. I’m afraid that if I fully bleach it it will just start yellowing.

Absolutely gutted since I love this shirt. Any advice from the IH brain trust here... @neph93 @Giles ? Or is this is write off? If so wondering if there is a way to salvage the turquoise snaps at least.

That is the worst… I’m sorry to gear that. I actually have great experience with Oxi-Clean. I’t’s got dried marinara out of white chambray and turmeric out is tee shirts for me. Multiple uses, longer soak times, more of it and lots of rubbing help. Is the shirt in the wash already?

Thanks @neph93 , I sprayed the oxiclean on it but haven’t tried re-washing it yet. Not sure if I should put it back in the machine or just attempt hand washing at this point. Happy to try multiple times if it has a chance of restoring the shirt.

I don’t know what brand you have. The standard in Norway and Europe is Vanish.

The process for me is

1. Spray
2. Leave for few minutes
3. Rub
4. Rinse

I would repeat this a number of times, and don’t be shy with any of the steps. I would also try and work the stain from both sides of the fabric.

Every closest always needs a beautiful white shirt. This one fits the bill perfectly.

I wash all white shirts hot and with a touch of bleach.  And use Shout or Oxiclean (the US product) on spots.  Yeah, this is heresy on a beautiful IH white shirt but I sweat Alien acid that eats through titanium and reminds you of Ripley's warnings.  My whites will be pit yellow unless I just beat the crap out of them in the laundry. So when it comes to all white shirts, I am merciless–-others can proper, gentle care.  I guess I'm just resigned to having to replace them.  Perhaps The Stubborn Crew will send us along another anti-Cash because at least mine is in for a beating.

@profdbrk Same.  It also helps to always wear an undershirt as well.  I couldn't agree more about having fingers crossed for a similar rerelease of this shirt.

@Manticore, Just saw this a moment ago. Did you try leaving the shirt out in bright sunlight for a few hours? I've done this in the past with baby clothing that had terrible food, pee, and crap stains in them. Got the worst of it out quite miraculously!
